He mentioned this:

"I'm told it's common in Egypt to slaughter a goat or cow, place your hands in the blood and then put your bloody handprints on the car. The slaughter of the animal is a way of sharing your good fortune as the meat is given to those less fortunate."

He says he might give it a go....

Ok....so my questions are

1. why not just buy them goat/beef from the market

2. is the blood on car part really necessary?

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

1) Personally, I'd prefer the fresh slaughtered animal to the market bought one.  But that's just me.  (I'm guessing the slaughter of the animal is part of the ritual)

2) I have no idea.  I'm guessing it's also part of the ritual.

I see a V6 badge on the front fender, so I'm guessing its a gas V6.

We had a 2006 Prado as one of the two official vehicles at the embassy in Sarajevo (the other was the Ambassador's Peugeot 607).  The Landcruiser was a solid impressive beast.  Ours had the D4-D diesel with slushbox.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...
