Real buttons for HVAC controls
Real 3rd side window
And it doesn't look bad at all.

OFFICIAL: 2016 Honda Pilot To Debut In Chicago
« Reply #21 on: February 12, 2015, 06:48:51 am »
I think that looks pathetic.  The existing pilot has some substance and presence, that looks like a bland nothing CRV thing.

Last year I narrowed my choices to an Explorer or Pilot, since I needed three rows and AWD, I would have been happy with either one, but an explorer came available first.  The advantage that the Pilot had was adjustable second row seats, which allows you to gain legroom in the third row.

Still, I've had seven people in the Ex, and they were fine.

on the web on the eve of its announcement

If that is it, I am disappoint.

What were you expecting it to look it?  It will look like a larger version of the CR-V, which it does...although I think this looks a bit closer to a minivan.

I was hoping a little less van and a little more SUV.  It's not like it was a given it would look like a larger CR-V.  The last one didn't.

Nice!...I think it looks awesome and a huge improvement over the previous generation. This will sell well.

It definitely looks more Van... might as well get a van :p. Seriously I'd go for an Odyssey, unless going for AWD

Meh. Does nothing for me - just another generic three row crossover.

While it wasn't pretty, I liked the butch styling of the current model.

Looks ok, but also a bit generic. I think the shape looks good on the smaller format CR-V, but meh on the Pilot. I really liked the boxy shape and wish they continued to evolve that design language.

Of course, we'll have to see what it looks like in the flesh as well.
I love it when a plan comes together.

My wife's reaction was very similar to mine.  "I'm disappointed.  It looks like a big CR-V, but more van-ish".

This coming from a CR-V driver  :rofl2:

Agreed.

I thought the boxy shape differentiated the Pilot (in a good way) from the sea of jelly beans.   Not that the current gen is beautiful or anything.

It is interesting watching the metamorphosis of all these big CUVs back into minivans, minus the sliding doors.

The interior looks like a nice upgrade. The exterior profile conjures up the Pathfinder, Santa Fe, Traverse, etc. which is a bummer for me, I was also hoping for boxy. Makes me wonder (and worry a little) about what's in store for the Ridgeline.

It's fine, I guess. The current one always looked awkward to me, this is better, but very generic midsize CUV.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Good point.  I'm watching the live reveal.  Looks pretty good on the stand, but still a lot softer than the previous gen. No power ratings being revealed at this time.  It will get the 9speed AT though  :P.

Agree, anything is an improvement over the last version. Kind'a looks like a CRV on steroids.

Shifter is pretty unique though...

looks cool but I don't like the idea of buttons beside the cupholders. One coffee or worse sugar drink spill and BOOM!

Yeah, good point... I also don't like the one behind the other style of cup holder... it's harder to know which drink is yours when driving (granted, I hardly drink anything in the car, but it happens)... One thing I notice when driving my dad's corolla

Have you noticed Honda is moving away from the (HORRIBLE, IMO) dual screen setup. This one looks much cleaner and visually more appealing and cohesive.
