Today I read a stat from Google that said on average 25% of EV chargers in the USA don't work.

Well you darn well SHOULD be! This idea of driving all day on a trip is so old fashioned. One should be making mandatory stops every few hours with a good size break. I’m not kidding that the EV pundits profess this!

Is this coming from those European types that think a 500km trip is a multi day thing?!!?  In north America, driving 1000+ km/day is status quo, I'm not stopping for 30min+ at every fuel stop. Or is this just them trying to cope with their poor decisions??

There are some businesses that are taking advantage of the long pause while charging an EV.  For example, behind a charging station we use occasionally there's a pizza take out.  By the time we finish the pizza the car is charged up.

And because Norway has mass adoption we should too. Make that all of North America.   ::)

I've been away a bit, but by now I guess you guys already knew Porsche is killing the gas versions of the Boxster/Cayman early next year? The new gen is EV-only.

While Europe in general and the  VW Group in particular is still smartening from dieselgate and wants to self immolate by cancelling some of the most iconic Porsche ICE models, Ford Motor Company sees the writing on the wall and is going to produce Super Duty pickups at the Oakville plant which was supposed to be dedicated to EV production and has been shuttered for the last one year plus

DETROIT (AP) — Ford plans to start making its F-Series Super Duty pickups at a plant in Ontario, Canada beginning in 2026 in order to keep up with customer demand for the vehicle.

The automaker said Thursday that it plans to invest about $3 billion to expand Super Duty production. This includes $2.3 billion to install assembly and integrated stamping operations at the Oakville facility in Canada.

The plant will produce up to 100,000 units of the pickups. Ford Motor Co. also makes the Super Duty pickups at plants in Kentucky and Ohio, which are operating at full capacity.

The Kentucky and Ohio plants produced more than 200,000 Super Duty trucks during the first half of this year, Ford said.
