Just a one time lease payment? I know the deals on these are great, a friend in Washington state was considering a Mach E, they let him take it for the weekend even. Didn’t buy it, but they sure were willing to deal.

I’m waiting for the buy a Super Duty get a Mach E for FREE on a two or three year lease. Gotta get rid of them somehow….

At a local Ford dealer. Discounts on new 2023 F150 Lightning.

They also have 15 new 2023 Mustangs in stock with advertised discounts of at least 10% on all.

I wonder if they are going to come out with an updated model 3 now.  There are more choices and teslas are old.   Not that I would ever buy one.

couple Chinese companies are taking the market in asian as well.

Yup, saw 2 of the updated 3 in my neighborhood. It does look much nicer and refined than the first gen.

Oh boohoo!

Exempt from state sales tax plus eligible for $7,500 Fed tax credit. And these idiots are mewling over $250 a year to pay for their fair share of road maintenance, repairs, infrastructure.

An EV9 and Ioniq6 appeared in the 'hood. The EV9 replaced a previous-gen Sequoia (the only one I ever saw), the Ioniq6 a MINI 3-door. Haven't done the math but we're way above the 20% provincial market share for EV's in our little residential cluster. The Kona EV I have this week is helping  ;D

Gotta say it feels good to be in a dead-silent full EV again. No ICE car is so linear between "go pedal" and the drivetrain. I will have to remember to use the brake pedal when I pick-up the Crosstrek next Monday...

So the house that got the EV9 ditched the second ICE car and now has a black EV6, and another Lyriq has appeared in the 'hood too. There's also one i4, one Polestar2 and more Teslas than I can count. And that's in a small residential cluster. Neighbour on one side has a Niro EV, and neighbourette on the other side did not take delivery of her just arrived Kona EV, based on my impressions. I think they're leaning towards a Y, funny for a couple who hate anything American - they might get sick if Musk starts financing that idiot.

Interesting piece here by Car and Driver that sets the record straight:

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a60278764/ev-sales-challenges/

While projections weren't met, EV sales did break records in the US for 2023. The complex tax credit approach and the fact that no affordable and efficient small EVs are being built aren't helping.

Setting the record straight would imply telling the truth.

And the truth is, people would rather hybrids....particularly PHEV

They covered that too in other pieces. This one basically said manufacturers are shooting themselves in the foot by building huge and expensive electric trucks and SUVs. They're all rushing hybrids and PHEV's down the product pipeline now.

Yup, that’s the consensus I got from all the dealerships here in the Okanagan. EV’s were constantly being traded on Hybrids. Found out just yesterday my neighbour ordered a Prius, his Bolt is getting traded off. He’s had EV’s since his first Nissan Leaf in 2012. Both him and wife are retired now, wants to travel more and doesn’t want the hassles of a EV.

Same genius head office idea that caused Chrysler to jack up their prices everywhere. 'Hey, if we just price our vehicles for lots and lots of money, we'll make lots and lots of money'
