Hopefully not bad habit forming. Not with such a nice face.

launching across intersections?   zooming down on/off ramp at hyperdrive speed?  flooring the thing any chance you get?
getting 20L/100km?

these habits?  ;D

still want one.

I can give you reasonable assurance that even doing all of those things, the Turbo still returns under 15 L/100 km...

...but JY, how did it handle the off-ramps?  ;)

I really like the Macan, but I'm really curious about the base model that is half the price of the one you drove...I mean, talk about value at <$60,000:  Porsche name, 3.0L twin-turbo @ 340hp and an almost equal torque number, in a package that won't damage the underside or nose if you misjudge a curb!

Pricing aside, the trunk seems beautifully squared off, but then I'm guessing you'll have to take your driver and woods out of the golf bag to make it fit in that trunk...

edit: I see on the right side there is a bit of extra space behind the wheel arch.  That'd probably be sufficient for the driver/woods.

I like the simplicity of the gauges on the cluster.  Nothing 'fancy', but simple elegance.  Befitting a Porsche!

OH MY LORD - that hood...?  Cutouts for the headlights?!  Really?

There's just nothing in this category that even comes close to the Macan, but I think the Turbo is probably overkill. A well equipped S is about $65k - $70k, and at that price point is better in every respect than a loaded SQ5, Evoque or X4. That's even about the same price as a loaded 328i wagon! $100k+ for a Turbo? Not so much.

GLA45 AMG vs. Macan S

Give them a score, and then start deducting for every dollar more the Macan costs.

I bet the Macan is "better" but I also bet it can't be better and not cost another 20K on the Mercedes when optioned up to match what Mercedes includes in its fully loaded $67K configuration.

I think the GLA AMG is better looking too...
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Yeah, I disagree with both of you.  Sorry.  I know power numbers are similar, but it's the same thing about the WRX vs the M235i - the 3L turbo I6 is a truly great engine, even if its power ratings aren't 'superb' anymore.  Power delivery matters.

Also, in styling, space, and material quality, the Macan would absolutely demolish the GLA.  "you get what you pay for" is often true, but I don't think the GLA is such a 'bargain'.  I think the Macan is, on the other hand, assuming it's not optioned way da fuk up there.

In your eyes, maybe.  But the GLA is better looking IMO. So I disagree that it "demolishes" the GLA in style.

I think the Macan is larger than the GLA.  More akin in size to the GLK.

I think the GLA is a fine looking vehicle, but it looks a lot like a Mazda CX5 to my eye.  I prefer the Porsche in this case.

I've never been a Porsche guy (or a SUV person for that matter), but the Macan really appeals to me somehow. In a world where most other crossovers have gone soft, this is one that isn't quite as compromised. Plus, the a la carte option flexibility has always been appealing to me.
