Ahh the front end styling GM should've used on the half tons.  Sexy beast, that.   But 80g...yowzers!  :o  Employee pricing???  ???
Agreed - the front end looks great on the Suburban.

I'm not a fan of the Chevy grilles. the GMC treatments on the SUVs and pickups are the winners in my eyes - I'd put the GMC at the top and prefer the Ford and Nissan over the Chevy - strange how the small variations on the same essential truck will create that much of a taste gap for me, but that is good for GM if they have two winners in different people's eyes.
Do I contradict myself?

Chevy looks WAY better than the GMC IMO.

What's with the merc mobile?  It's a little baby SUV.  Not the same

Nice vehicle for sure, but $83k for a Chevy truck... :o :fall:  Even $70k for the base is way too much imo.

Those merely start at $80k.

The Suburban is practically a screaming bargain when compared to similary equipped German SUVs.

Drive that big beast off the lot and loose 20 or more grand in couple of years.

If you want the big tough man's SUV this is it.

If I was the big boss I'd roll in one of these as my DD and have a sports car on the side.

Something hilarious about having the Suburban as the DD and the C7 as the weekend car  ;)

Wrong.  You would be rolling in an Escalade.

I agree that the Chevy front end is a lot nicer than the GMC.

If I needed a big SUV, the Suburban would be my choice over all others including the Germans...and the Escalade. The Suburban says, I mean business, the Escalade says I have a business.

I find the Chevrolet looks better too. Both look fine though.

I don't know about that last part - LOTS of Escalades being driven by folks who just want the notoriety of driving a 'Slade...financial wherewithal isn't necessarily part of the equation.

Although there's an argument to be made that at least the Escalade is honest - it's big, brash, garish and kinda tacky - but honest about all that.  Whereas the Yukon Denali XL - supposedly the "tasteful" and value-priced Escalade - really isn't any cheaper, less ostentatious, or more "professional" than an Escalade.

If the new F150 does well, it will be interesting to see if Ford leverages it into an aluminum Expedition / Excursion.  With more sheet metal, there might be even more potential for weight savings on these giant SUVs than on the trucks!

I know it's a bit smaller and can't quite tow as much but I think I'd go for a Dodge Durango over this.  It's about $20,000 cheaper.  That being said if towing capacity and space are my top priorities I think I'd be heading to Ford for their new Expedition.

They've always been expensive! Our 2006 had an MSRP of $64,787, had every option, DVD, Navigation, leather. They also hold their value extremely well.

Didn't you just buy a newer one a few months ago? In my experience, the prices of used ones drop like a rock the first few years, then kind of plateau from there.

I like the GMC version as well.  There's too much chrome on the Chevy.  Plasti-dipped Chevy front would be ideal. :)

I love the idea of having the Suburban as DD and C7 as weekend car. Not anytime soon, but one day...

Yeah, I don't understand why they don't offer a monochromatic appearance package.

You know the aftermarket will.
