I like the basic shape . Back to 4 lug wheels and a single exhaust. The duals on the NC were just for looks anyway.
A good effort . You will never please everybody.

Well MZ-5s have always been pretty good drivers.  That's never been my issue with them.

It's been the looks.  Specifically the front.  And this is just another in a long line of disappointments....FFS...does it really need to have a smiling face?  REALLY??

I agree.  I counted no fewer than 5 cameras for Duran Duran.  And there was a single camera on the Miata that didn't even pan the entire way around the car.  Rear 3/4 view to front 3/4 view.  Just terrible.

Have to agree with your previous comments above.  They tried to tie in with the previous generations.  I think they should have gone all Kodo.  I don't dislike it, but from a design point of view, doesn't change my mind about getting an NC gen. 

Is 220lbs the confirmed number?  If so, then I assume we know which engine we will get? (2.0L/2.5 skyactiv?)

I'll take one in red with bright silver wheels.  The interior is modern but simple, looks well done.  Based on the pics, I think the "not busy" body might allow the design to be used for a long time.

I'm not sold on the black windscreen surround.  Some older Miata owners paint their cars this way, but it's not my personal preference.

The arc of the front and rear fenders looks nice.  The low hoodline is awesome.  The triangular lines leading from the cowl to the front bumper looks terrific.

Solstice, It's in their press release.  Weight reduction of 100 kg, which equals 220 lbs  (I'm not on my computer, don't have link at moment)

No info on engines besides that they'll be Skyactiv. With Skyactiv manual and auto transmissions.

This.  What a better car to be the flagship of Mazda design?  Instead...it doesn't look as modern or as "Kodo" as the 3 or 6...

Didn't mean it that way. According to Autoblog, 300 pounds lighter than NC = 200 pounds heavier than the NA, so 200 pounds lighter than NC should make it 300 pounds heavier than the NA. John would probably know the exact weight of the NA.
