Back end reminds of a Z3/Z4 a bit.  Headlights have a touch of FR-S in them...

The grill opening is too low...so it again looks like a smiley face.  YUCK!

On the newest Mazda3/Mazda6, you see how they raised the grill higher (almost to the top of the headlights) so it doesn't look like a goofy face.

I just gave up.

Not crazy about the grinning mug that's still there, but it's better.
Like the side profile & rear-end though.

Guessing it will have the sky 2.0L & about 175 ponies.

So that's why they tweaked the 2013+ miata face the way they did.....  so that it would have a bit of transition from the previous smiley-face to the new gen miata....

2013-2015 tweaked face miata


2009-2012 smiley-face miata


They tried to keep a connection with the previous generation MX-5's, rather than go all Kodo.

1999-2005 2nd generation (NB) miata


1989-1998 1st generation (NA) miata - look at the "mouth"


I think I would have preferred all Kodo.
