Not sure if this really makes me all that happy, but I suppose it should. Finally back working officially today!! Signed my contract yesterday & back at er this morning. Fingers crossed that they keep me on & get their next wave of funding.

I did enjoy the 3 months off, tons of golf & a bit of home maintenance, but the bank account sure took a hit. Time to build up the slush fund again.

Fell down the stairs today!

Am glad I only have a sore knee, elbow, back, goose egg on back of head and cuts on knee and foot, sore muscles in both quads and abs!

Could be much worse! LOL [emoji38]

Ron,

Time to stop shopping for a Porsche, and install one of these instead:

Yep, a surprising amount of people have killed themselves that way, or even just tripping and banging their head on the corner of something

Wouldn’t surprise me with their new push for electric vehicles.  LOL

Were you at least drinking or high when you tumbled?  Was it carpeted?

Stairs were carpeted, landing below not.

That there is the problem, sober!!! My Great Uncle did the same, stone cold sober, falls down the stairs, breaks his neck & passed away maybe a year later because he also had cancer & was too weak to treat it.

Thanks.

Explained to my manager this morning that I have a tournament tomorrow & a round booked for Friday afternoon, she was completely fine with it. Though the tournament got cancelled for tomorrow because of the rain storms in the forecast. Gonna be next Wednesday instead & she's cool with that. No paid sick days for me, no work, no pay.

And thanks everyone else.

Congrats Gurgie! 3 months off is nice and all, but for me I'd struggle to enjoy it with the job search looming.

Congrats on the new gig, Gurgie!

Congrats Gurgie! 3 months off is nice and all, but for me I'd struggle to enjoy it with the job search looming.
The last few weeks were the roughest because I knew I had a new contract coming, but it was stuck in the burocratic process for 5 weeks. It was like every day I was expecting a call to let me know it was in. Once it came in I was relieved because I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I had a couple of other opportunities as well, but they fell apart due to budget issues & corporate re-orgs.
