I know if I were pretty close to retirement and got sidelined from my career like that, my thoughts would go to working in some cottage industry where my passions like.  Go work part time at a bike shop or something similar.  Just enough to stay busy and pay for a new bike every couple of years.

Seeing as you're into fishing, perhaps that's the industry where you should be looking...
Oh. Well I have news on that front. Sort of.

Did some fishing with some pros/part time pros this summer. On one occasion, I fished their pants off! Was immediately offered a full sponsorship for Bassmaster Kayak Series. I turned it down though. Too old for that!

Was offered to be on Pro-Staff for my old boat manufacturer. Could have got a new boat for that deal. But I recently bought my other boat, so that didn't seem fair since I'll be busy with new boat. Declined that one.

I DID accept a sponsorship from an American tackle company though. This was based largely on them seeing my OCD-level bait reviews online.

I have a few more irons in the fire as far as fishing goes..but certainly not enough to supplement income.

Youtube fishing channel? less stress, chat about your passion, promote some product...etc.  You would be surprise how well it can go.
I really don't know about that part. I like the solitude when I fish.

But I like where your head is! I'd prefer to do something like this channel though.

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Yeah, I have to file in two countries this year, have a 3rd party doing it, but Canadian tax forms have been super slow. Currently held up waiting on a bunch of T5/T3s from Sunlife that they apparently won't have out until the 2nd week of March FFS.

100% positive, I've been checking every day for the past month.  They only send out paper copies to people who left GNB, I think even retirees get their stuff electronically.

That’s totally normal for T5/T3s T3 and T5013. Deadline for those has always been end of March.

Was fine when I had my own local accountant doing it, but this year I have to use my company's tax provider, one of the big financial agencies, and they want everything submitted, for both sides of the border for March 4th. So now I am having to explain to them and get an extension. Really, the problem is with the tax service provider as they should be aware of the deadlines in every country that they cover, and adjust their deadlines accordingly.....but that would require competence.
It's still crap that the Canadian firms can't get their tax slips out until mid-March, we're 3 months into the new year by that point....

Yeah, I am not sure if it's new regs or something, but a lot of the Ontario U-pull lots went paved in the last few years. Kenny U-Pull in Hamilton looks very similar. I haven't ventured into the ones down here yet, but they are plentiful and from the road they look more like someone dumped a bucket of hotwheels in the dirt  :rofl2:

Passenger window switch from that 05ish Mustang is hard to come by? AutoZone has it, in stock, $35. Oddly though, RockAuto doesn't even have a listing....quite strange.

Also, I always liked the wheels on that Mustang, think they were the 'upgrade' on the V6 at the time...Surprised someone hasn't grabbed them, little refinishing and they'd be good to go.

And every row is numbered, like a grocery store!

And I told them what I was looking for and he printed me a ticket telling me exactly where it was (Row 9a).

It's spectacular!

Here's a business venture I'd love to see - Ron and Dante running a Pick N Pull... it'd probably look something like this

Beats rolling around in the gravel, snow and ice like the self serve lots here. Rows are numbered with a map of where particular vehicle is located but the row numbers are just spray painted on the door of the outer cars. Looks like June?  No winter?

Well it is if the prices didn't triple to pay for all that "experience". Good old days had $50 all you could carry.. ;D
