No, just the transmission.  Not the end of the world.  :)

Lol... No man, that's not a concern. She's been driving it for more than a year now and she's pretty good at it.
She just came home after her first day driving herself to school and library....and the car is still in one piece.

Junior took me for a rip in the FIL’s rod yesterday. This car may have a  raw feel :)

Just curious about insurance,  IIRC, on my policy I can't let anyone under 26 years old drive as they're not covered.

It's government insurance. Everyone is covered, even meth heads.

Oh that...😀 Not overly concerned about that. The car comes with strings attached at this time.

Made a firm offer on the final piece to the dream car collection - the most money I've spent on a car to date but also likely the wildest, most exotic and most "value-preserving"/appreciating. If it comes to fruition, I should have it within a month.

Ended up cashing out my half of the F355 Spider that I split with my buddy; it's his dream car, not mine, and the money could be put to better use for me.

It's done; awaiting customs and shipping. Barring any unforeseen disasters, I should have the final piece to my dream car collection in hand this time next month. This particular one has some true celebrity provenance too...

Stick a fork in me; I'm done.  :)

I may know what this is... he's a certifiable hero. Or psychopath. Or both.

400 big block Chevy. Not sure on the tranny.

Very quick, and rides surprisingly nice given the low clearance. It’s been in various forms/colours throughout its life. Had a rumble seat in the trunk at one time.  The license plate says “steel” so you know it’s not a kit/fibreglass job. Last pic is from a couple years back and I was following him in his ‘64 Olds.

I have pics of the last rebuild/fab work somewhere. The man is talented, been building cars his whole life. Still works full time at 77, says he doesn’t know what he’s do if he retired.

Talented is an understatement!  That thing is a work of art imo!   :winner:

It's great! I'm sorry you have to go through this, but I'm glad you and your family are ok.

Costco down here sells a 1.5L bottle of Kirkland brand Irish Cream for $12, and it is absolutely getting me through many late nights working.

Jealous, I'm sure they have all sorts of cheap bulk liquor at the Costco down there.  If only we had that in NB.

When I was in my early twenties, I drove down to NOLA to hang out with my brother for a week, before we both drove to Tennessee for the Bonnaroo music festival.  Before we left, we 'stocked' up on alcohol - we bought a sixty of Vodka, and a sixty of Whiskey - bottom shelf stuff - at the local supermarket.  I think each bottle was about $15 at the time.  Stupid, stupid cheap.

Funny enough, it hasn't changed much. Mrs.Firm bought a sixty of cheap Vodka (she uses it to sanitize certain things, for some reason...) for $17 at the liquor store down the street from us. If the goal is to get absolutely plastered on minimal $, that's the ticket, lol.

Youngest is off Friday on a bucket list trip to Nepal (trekking to Everest base camp)
Mrs Sailor would put this under things that upset me thread as she is going to worry her all the way there and back.

My sister and her husband did that a few years ago and loved it. I did the Annapurna one back in the 90's and felt the same. Nepali's are great and the mountains are out of this world

Well, I'm not sure it's what I would have picked at her age but I envy her the adventure.

Annapurna would be my choice. The Evereest area has changed dramatically in the last 30 years. I think there is a Holiday Inn Express now.  ;D

On my 50th birthday, I wanted to get myself something "nice", a big splurge (I never splurge on myself).

So I ordered a bespoke piece of clothing...my first and likely last.

It's been nearly 2 years...and I got my shipping confirmation today.

Pretty stoked to finally receive this.

Since I've ordered, I've lost 60+ pounds....so I'm hoping the fit will work.

Bespoke…2 years waiting…this must be one hell of a furry costume you had ordered.  Should be a big hit at the next convention.   ;D
