Two weeks into the new job, so far so good.  Love the WFH...not that I've emerged from my basement much except to go meet with clients / leads.  My wife is a little nervous at my lack of immediate billable work, but I'm playing the long game here...

Unshaven, wearing sweatpants..It's a noble pursuit lol.
You have a hidden camera in my house or what?

Some for sale ads always make me chuckle.

“2013 Subaru Outback. 4 wheel drive automatic 4 cylinders.  387,000 km.  Still running but has difficulty going up hills. Mechanic says the transmission fell over. Also the car is registered in Ontario so not worth the cost to repair. Great for spares.”

Should’ve just helped the poor old transmission back up and carried on!

Was it drunk? ;D ;D ;D

Also, would a '13 be the CVT or the conventional automatic?

The CVT of course. I’m guessing it wasn’t drunk, but the mechanic probably told the owner it was slipping, that’s close enough to falling over lol.

I had to suit up for a meeting yesterday, and I was like, lemme see if I can remember how this goes.  ???

That is super funny, but it does makes sense now

When we were looking at Nissans a while ago both mechanics we talked to about JATCO transmissions waved their hands and made explody noises. That was easy enough to understand

Before Covid I used to wear a suit and tie once a year, to the office Christmas party. Last time was at my daughter's wedding in 2020. At work I wear an expensive outfit - Nomex coveralls.

Both kids all signed up to play hockey this year. First time for both! I’m gonna live at the rink, but they both love to skate and play driveway hockey, so it’s the logical next step. U9 boys and U11 girls.

This is my report from the first NHRA national event I attended in 1984, the Quaker State Northstar Nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota.  It appeared in the Winnipeg Sun on August 23, 1984.  I will be asking NHRA for press credentials to cover the 2024 event at Brainerd International Raceway. Wish me luck!
