Just got informed by the VP of my division that I'm being sent to London ON in December to spend a week at the Ivey Business Academy, taking their 'Emerging Leader Development Program', the first in a series of four management courses.

Nice.  I'm guessing they must have big plans for you in the future.  Always nice to have your superiors believe in you.

That's what I'm thinking.  I applied for the branch manager position here a couple years ago, but they ended up hiring somebody a lot more experienced (and rightfully so, he was a good choice).  BUT, the secondary effect is that interviewing for the job communicated my intentions and interest to the company.

X2. They wouldn't be putting time and money into someone they didn't think had a future at the Company.

Congrats.  Now you can pay higher federal income taxes forever.  ;D

My wife is a UOW alumni and every 5 years she attends her specific all woman's college reunion and it's happening end of this September so a horde of them stay there for a mega cackle.  I've done my duty so not attending this time.  You'll like the place.  Bring a few bottles with you though.  It's not in London proper, but you're not missing anything particularly in December.

Canadian Men's basketball team finishing up the opening round of the World Cup and being undefeated with the best point differential among all 24 teams.  I'm not going to get my hopes up for a medal, but qualifying for the Olympics next year would be amazing, would be first time since 2000.

Down to my last two weeks at my current job.  Super excited for the switch.  My new office equipment and furniture has started to arrive, which makes this all a concrete reality.

Picked up the FILs ‘64 Olds last night. The older boy asked his grandpa if he could pick it up and take it for a cruise. He told the boy that we could come grab it for the week.

^ Thanks KD. We ended up keeping the car for a couple weeks and drove it daily. A lot of thumbs up that’s for sure.

There was trim on the bottom of doors/rockers, but the FIL likely added the chrome.  He's a chrome junkie.

Our 11 year old home has three windows that the seals have let loose.  Called the manufacturer and they are sending a guy out in one month to replace.  I couldn't even remember the name of our builder, but they had our window records on file based on the home address.  I do have to pay a $200 service fee, but whatever, a no brainer.  Pretty good service if you ask me.

Made a firm offer on the final piece to the dream car collection - the most money I've spent on a car to date but also likely the wildest, most exotic and most "value-preserving"/appreciating. If it comes to fruition, I should have it within a month.

Ended up cashing out my half of the F355 Spider that I split with my buddy; it's his dream car, not mine, and the money could be put to better use for me.
