But 15 hp and 7 lb-ft of torque over S models is not that much.  I'd be happy with an S (even a  first gen 2009+).
Don't fight it.  The sooner you get it the better.

What else do you get besides a small HP/TQ bump and different interior?

Quote
Both receive output increases of 15 hp and 7 lb-ft of torque over S models, giving the Boxster 330 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque and Cayman 340 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. While available with the 7-speed PDK automatic, you’ll still be able to order a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Sport Chrono package, Porsche Active Suspension Management, 20-inch wheels, and a unique interior are also included.

I thought they usually did some minor suspension tweaks for the GTS versions.

The Cayman is so good, I don't see a reason to consider a 911, unless you go full on and make the jump to the Turbo.  And as much as I love open cars, to my eyes the Cayman looks better than the Boxster.

Pffftttt.....these are cute and all.....but for the exorbitant amount they will surely cost, Id take this and show them exhaust tips all the way around a track..

Lighten up Francis.....

Same here - that GTS is about the sexiest thing on 4 wheels at the moment IMHO

I'd actually like to see the every day person take both the Vette and Cayman around a track and compare their times.

Not long ago, I think that despite the power shortage, the edge might have gone to the Porsche in that test.  Today, with the significant improvements to the Corvette chassis and it's superb electronics, I'm not so sure.

If it were my own hard-earned money, yeah, the Corvette is a winner thanks to the super-aggressive pricing.  And when the money gets to the $100K mark (which can happen even with a Cayman...) then suddenly the 620hp Z-06 comes on the radar.

But, yes, the Cayman GTS and the R (especially the R!) are DED SEXY.

What's the difference between the Cayman GTS and R?  I can't keep track of these Porsche variants anymore!

99.9% of the buyers won't track so its all about daily driving. The Cayman is far superior in that department and I see many driven in the winter. I have yet to see one Corvette in the winter.

Yeah, the Corvette suffers terrible clearance issues that make it almost impossible to use in the winter.

Exactly!  Personally, how a car performs on the track doesn't even enter my mind when buying a vehicle.  I simply don't care.  I'd take the lowly 315hp Boxster S any day over the new Vette.  The Vette being able to spank it on the track means nothing to me.  And don't get me wrong.....I love Vette as well.

So if look at all the costs involved a Cayman would be less expensive as you don't have to buy another car for winter  :)

At the $100k mark you are in GT-R territory if you are looking for performance.  Personally, the sweet spot for the Vette is the non Z06 with the dry sump and magnetic suspension, especially for a fun track car.

For me, I would track a car like this and still street drive it on occasion.  It certainly wouldn't see winter.
