They must see value in the brand, certainly there isn't much tech of interest?

But wouldn't it overlap a lot with AMG?

Aston has style and status Mercedes can't match.  I don't think this will help Aston Martin though.

I didn't say anything about German CARS being reliable but AFAIK Mercedes ENGINES are reliable.

To be fair MB is a bit late to the turbo party and BMW and Audi are already shitfaced.

Maybe there will be some growing pains...or maybe they just have tons of failed BMW HPFPs in the labs to examine and learn from.
