As excited as that makes me, I'm cautious until we see how the new A3 sells first.  A TDI AWD A3 (i.e. premium, AWD golf wagon) would be swell, just swell.  Golly.

I would settle for TDI manual, as that was not offered last time.  So I would have to get the VW Golf Wagon Highline TDI manual instead.  But if the A3 was offered TDI manual, that would be tempting...AWD....not a deal breaker...in the GTA

Really like the looks of this. Almost looks like the previous A4 Avant.

Gas or diesel, just bring one with AWD please.

I think it's going to sell very well. The pricing is very attractive.

No, no, no! Blasphemer! Don't give them any more silly ideas! >:(

Audi, just bring over a proper S4 Sportback with a manual transmission and I'll buy two just to make up for the sale you'll lose to SirO!  ;)

Why do I live in the US? where I can't get the Merc B-Klasse and now, potentially the A3 hatch.  :banghead:

(And 99% of people use the wrong units of measure, and look at me funny when I use a 1$ coin)

Way off topic, but since you just reminded me...

When did Americans start to use and be comfortable with metric engine displacements? Why does nobody seem to care that their beloved Chevy 305, 350 and 454 are now 5.0, 5.7 and 8.1?

I would have thought there'd be a fuss, but they seem perfectly okay with it. Same with all the new 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5 engines. Does anyone even have a clue what those are in cubic inches anymore?

Much better proportioned than the Sedan IMO.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

It would make sense. Jack it up a bit, add AWD, call it a CUV and sell it to Americans....seems to be working for BMW with their X1  four door hatchb...ur, I mean CUV.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Oh, thanks for that. Should have done some fact checking before posting.

Wow, so the mythical 8.1L gasser is actually a 494. Nice!

And a Lycoming 540 is 8.9L. Yikes!

Isn't the A3 Sportback going to the states as the A3 e-tron plug in hybrid?

Please Audi!

Please, please, please, please!

If this is coming, I'll put my purchase plans on hold.  The Mazda 3 is on its way out and I'll likely drive my A4 Avant into the ground before letting it go.  Give me this and I'll likely never look back.  :)

But...it NEEDS quattro.

Mythical?  My friends dads truck has that engine in it.  Talk about a gas hog.

Mythical only because I keep hearing about them, but have never actually seen one. Perhaps legendary would have been a better description.
