That's a lot of people who didn't come here to have us tell them what to buy.
It's their own damn fault.   :)

Agreed.

My brother made a rush buy because he's moving to Sault Ste Marie in a few weeks.  He knew that he wanted the Crosstrek though, but in the buying process he said "I need it and I need it quick."  They said the only way they could get him the car on time was with 2 colour choices.  He said "I want a dark car, but I really just want the Black - I don't like any of the other colours."  They pressured him and he ultimately said fine, dark grey would be ok, too.  They were about to give him a VIN for a dark grey after 1 week of searching, but then my brother called other dealerships in the area and asked their availability.

In the end, he has a VIN for a black one and is happy, but was incredibly disappointed with the buying experience because he felt pressured by lack of time.

What car sold in North America is only what people need?
And some cretins think I hate cars.

Car purchases are expensive and often emotionally driven.  That's a bad combo.  I'm surprised the percentage of consumers with buyers regret is not higher.

Me too!

Utterly remarkable how well that car sold.  For the life of me, I can't figure out what those people were thinking or how lazy they could possibly be when dropping nearly $20k.

With incentives, some of those were going for sub $15k.  I think the only one that was going for close to asking price were the SRT-4s.

More people should buy Subarus. ;D

Even those cars have a lot more features than basic cars, say, from the 1950's.  People probably were as happy with their 1950's cars as people are with today's cars and they were able to get from Point A to Point B back then.  Interesting how marketing succeeds at converting wants to needs. The auto industry is particularly good at this, and the sheeple buy it.

The sheeple buy it for the same reason ppl buy shitty old houses for $500K in TO; stinking low interest rates.  It's no longer the product, but the payment.  Sooner or later it`s all going to end badly.
