Yes.

And employees are forced to use vacation pay or not get paid during shutdown.

Won't be long until a union is in there...

Canadian Model 3 configurations are continuing to open up for reservation holders, now into those who reserved within the first 3 days.

I have delayed my configuration in preference for AWD feature availability.  I am aware that many existing Model S owners like me are making similar choice.  Even if I don't get the Ontario $14K rebate, I'd rather get what I want than compromise, I mean, it's already in BMW 340 territory, it's a premium car, so get the features you want.

Have looked at some CPO Tesla P85D are mid$80k's with 4 year extended warranty, which is pretty much my budget for a loaded performance Model 3.  While the 3 will be a more sporty ride than the larger S, having enjoyed driving the P85D loaner last year, I kind of want to stick with the larger car for long road trips which is the predominant use our existing Tesla gets.   Wife wants a Model X ... so we might look into that in a few years when the longer range 100D Model X come available off lease.

Model 3 looks small next to the X but substantially bigger compared to the Roadster...
Without checking, I have the impression the M3 is about the same size as my Saturn "S" car I own(ed)

The video is called "Tesla Model 3 Intense Autocross Race!". Did I miss the "INTENSE" part of this race.  :rofl2: The comments are even funnier.

I would rather Elon gave up on Tesla and concentrated on SpaceX and the battery business.

The local sports car club that runs among other things the autoslalom program has temporarily banned all cars with lithium based battery from competition until ASN Canada comes out with an official policy. Somehow I don't think this will affect participation one little bit...

Just heard an interview with a money manager who says Tesla' s accounting and continual smoke and mirrors remind him of Enron...

Oh...and a class action lawsuit against Tesla for securities fraud. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-04-14/elon-knew-new-lawsuit-alleges-musk-knowingly-lied-about-model-3-production-0

"Bloomberg ran the numbers and determined the automaker burns through more than $6,500 every minute. If that number is correct, the company goes through $390,000 every hour and $9,360,000 every day."

"The massive outflow of cash means Tesla could run out of money before the end of the year. One analyst estimates the company will need to raise $2 billion this year alone. That same analyst, Bruce Clark of Moody’s Investors Service, also noted Tesla has $1.2 billion worth of debt that is due by 2019."

You watch....to raise capital, this Ponzi scheme will take deposits for the new Model Y....

Also...Q1 reporting is coming out Wednesday....expect $800+ million in losses...

Torn down Model 3.

I'm familiar with Munro and the work they do (because of proximity and the industry). They tear down cars to see how it's engineered, offer how it could be improved, etc.

They tore down a Model 3.

The video is here. Long but interesting.

Motor Trend article:  http://www.motortrend.com/news/tesla-model-3-teardown-deconstructed-3/

Cliff notes: Battery as some electronics appears to be industry standard. The rest of the car lags well behind.

Tesl is now priorizing deliveries of the Model 3 in Canada in order to delay the 200,000 US deliveries threshold as much as possible. Federal subsidies start to roll back at 200,000 in the US.

I think this confirms the concern that customers will cancel their order once the subsidy is history.

Meanwhile they still produce 2500 or so a week and have about 22,000 delivered now. About 2 year production numbers for the upcoming Hyundai Kona EV. Compared to F-150’s 22K is not much but compared to other EV’s, it’s really a lot.

And Tesla stock remains around $300.

Yep...if they can delay it, it will add about $500 million to Tesla' s bottom like..something they desperately need.

Also points points out the BS of Musk saying he wished there was no subsidies....

Cliff notes: Battery as some electronics appears to be industry standard. The rest of the car lags well behind.

You know very well your cliff notes are not factually accurate to the discussion and points made by Munro in the video.
I really don't understand why you'd want to deliberately mislead us here?

Munro outlined the battery is well beyond the state of art of previous and recent tear downs of GM and BMW battery systems.

Munro said the rest of the industry is far behind on electronics including the auto-pilot hardware, specifically the integration of extreme scale electronics only seen in the top cell phones.

Munro said the Model 3 suspension systems are "F1" level in terms of sophistication.

Actual Cliff notes : Tesla 3 is next generation from motor, battery, suspension, effectively anything south of the door frame.

Musk saying he wished there was no subsidies....

Musk clearly said, the fossil fuel industry should get no subsidies, which would then even out the playing field, therefore not requiring EV's to get benefits.
Reality : Trillion$ spent on oil and gas, and a small fraction spent on EV's.
