The WRX can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission or optional Sport Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. Equipped with a 2.0-litre BOXER four-cylinder engine, the WRX produces 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

I'd like to see a Crosstrek XT with this engine or even slightly de-tuned. IE: 220-240hp and equal TQ

The WRX was at the top of my shopping list.  Then they killed the hatch version.  :(

I was in the same boat for the STi, which I believe also had the hatch killed. Great, just what we need, even higher value retention for WRX and STi hatches on the used market....

What's included in the "sport" and "sport tech" packages?

Glad to see Subaru's Canadian pricing getting a little bit better...

Good pricing...depending on the equipment level. I'm seriously considering one in a year or two as a replacement for the TSX.

I'd be interested in a sunroof, LED/HID headlights, and the 6MT. Sport package perhaps?

Those details will probably be available closer to launch as they finalize packaging.

Better pricing more in line (although still higher than) with the U.S.

WRX STI is $34,295. It currently costs $1.12 to buy a US dollar unless you happen to be sitting on tens of thousands of American dollars, so that makes it $38,410 CAD. So $585 more expensive in Canada. And maybe $800 for freight and PDI.

Still not enough of a difference to justify going down there and buying one new though.

I was just trying to point out exactly that. :) Maybe if currency was at par, it might be worth it to save just over 10% or $3,700. But it's not.

And my math skills failed. $37,995 is the Canadian price, so it's actually more expensive to go to the US to buy one.

Killing the hatch was the last thing I thought they would do.

WRX and STI "Sport" and "Sport-Tech" models will have LED headlights.

It seems like the WRX Sport 6MT would be the one for me...

There's a better than even chance the Levorg will be taking the place of the WRX hatch in the lineup. Keep your fingers crossed.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

That would be great if it does happen.

Looks nice.  Now if that could have been the Legacy Wagon...

I'm happy to hear about the price drop, but it's actually a bit of a price increase...2014 WRX Limited is $35,495...the 2015 loaded version (whatever they call the trim) will be $36,795 (incl CVT).

So, yeah, if you're proper and get the 6MT, it's cheaper (or the same price)...otherwise it's more expensive to dull the experience.  Thanks, Subaru.

WRX Sport CVT at $33,795 seems to be the sweet spot now...but to get the HIDs, need to get the "sport tech" if we trust the previously leaked details (which named them as Premium and Limited trims).

I dunno, I just can't link "CVT" and "WRX" together.

This.  They don't go together.  DCT and WRX is what it should have been.

Solution:
Buy more Subarus so they have more money for development (of both DCTs and Hatchback versions)
