A sports car (sportscar) is a small, usually two seat, two door automobile designed for spirited performance and nimble handling.[2] Sports cars may be spartan or luxurious but high maneuverability and minimum weight are requisite.
For example an S2000 or Miata.
Ah yes...this tired old argument.
Well the "small" and "lightweight" part pretty much means most supercars and sports cars of today aren't real sports cars at all....
Why is it that tired? The S2000 is a sports car, the TT-RS is not. Just because manufactures bloat up cars and fill them with ecu controls that decouple the driver from the car does not make it a real sports car, just a video game with consequences
Because it's a stupid way of pigeon-holing cars to some archaic standard that was used in the 50s.
Using that argument, a C7 is not a sports car. It is neither small, nor what would be considered light weight. Totally ridiculous. But using that same argument, my 911 is a sports car.
Which one is more sporting?
See why the argument is tired?
