The sub-86 car sounds interesting.  Hopefully, they don't pull a Honda CR-Z.

Well they didn't say sub 86 sport car will be red... And no one is going to buy a sub 100k supra with a 2.0 turbo engine... Try to sell that the potential owners where bigger is better!

This is great news!

Supra + NSX

Never occurred to me why the suboyta twins wasn't called Celica - anyways.

Honda wake up - please consider a lude or integra come back....get on the bandwagon - one rear wheel drive the other fwd.

Nissan a 240sx would be nice - pull the engine outta a juke into a 2door and OUR friends from yestur-year will be back in action.

After what they did to the CR-Z, do you REALLY want them to tackle the Prelude?

Honestly though, I considered the RSX to be a pretty decent Integra replacement....

I like how the Nissan IDX concept. I mean a everyday car with some sport.  I would take that over the GT86

Pretty much my take on the Supra replacement.  A 2.0 hybrid thingy?  Uhhh, no thanks.

I don't like the idea of a hybrid sports car period.  Adds weight, cost and complexity to a class of car where mpgs are not a big selling point.

To me the best Supra was the 82-85. Toyota should dig one up, look at everything that was right about it and make a modern version.   A 300hp inline six powering the rear wheels and a price in the $30-$40k range.

They've already got a $30-40k sports car.  The Supra needs to be about big performance.

Yeah, I don't like the sound of 2.0T Supra.
The 1.5L Hybrid on the other hand, seems like something based on that crazy Yaris prototype with supercaps. Most likely it will be a FWD Fiesta ST fighter. An absolutely amazing powertrain setup for a sports car in this class. Just keep the manual option.

People are smoking crack who think they're going to get a 300+ horsepower sports car for 30K-40K.

I see these comments all the time by people on different sites/blogs. It ain't happening.

Isn't a new Mustang with the base 3.7L V6 already there?

He'll say "that's not a sports car, that's a pony car".

Even though the 370Z and Genesis Coupe can be had for $40K....both sports cars.

Why would anyone leave a country packed with ponys for a non-pony country?  :rofl2:

You do realize this is 2014, not the mid 90's.  Almost every 6 cyl engine on the market is near or over 300 hp.  Even those in plain Jane sedans and people movers.   They could make one in the $20-$30k range if they wanted but this should be a premium car so $30-$40k is better.
