From the outside the car actually does't look bad. But I've lost track of what a Subaru is supposed to look like these days. I think people were charmed by quirky design of previous models. The spell breaks for me the more mainstream looking Subaru gets...some of these new designs are competent but anonymous. It's like they're crossing paths with Kia and Hyundai except that they're going in the other (wrong) direction. Of course someone will point out that sales are booming...

This car has ceased to exist (to me, at least). I liked the room, airy greenhouse and reasonnable price of entry of the current car. Then I drove one. Steering, brakes, engine, CVT, suspension ... easily worst of the entire category. Its only redemption over, say, a Camry was the availability of a stick, and awd for snowy days.

Making a meh car even more beige can only result in one thing in NA: sales success.

The thing is, beside the SVX, there has never been a Subaru that is revolutionary in its styling. A lot have looked very good, but I dont think theres any model of Subaru that I can say will blow me away looks wise. Saying that, I still think the Legacy looks good.
Lighten up Francis.....

Yup. Looks like their style direction provides them a net gain: they get more of "them" than they lose of "us".

The bland milquetoast transformation is well underway at subaru... No manual, no frameless windows, no burlap sack seat fabric, anonymous styling... Is this what it comes to  :-\

yeah yeah, styling...rabble rabble rabble.

I like the integration of the centre stack - much better than the modular set-up in the Impreza line-up (incl XV, Forester).

Available features seems competitive - but I'm somewhat confused as to the 3.6R offering.  I'd think the FA2.0T would be the better engine (since they really only have 3 engines now in North America) - maybe they're starting to agree that turbos are thirsty.

The Legacy will still be available with a manual transmission in the Canadian market. It's only in the US market that the manual will be dropped for 2015.

Save the manuals!

Haven't seen any word on that yet - where did you find the info?
