Subaru has so few platforms, so having the Legacy is not as expensive as you'd think since it shares so much with the Outback - which is a huge seller for them. It doesn't sell that poorly, either, for a smaller manufacturer (Mazda6 volume is still pretty damn good).
Dos anyone else here wonder why the fack that beautiful-looking Nav system in the leaked photos can't show up in the Impreza platform (XV, Forester, WRX/STi) or in the BRZ?! I'd much prefer that bolted into a WRX centre stack than the Pioneer-shiite they've been using. Seriously, that Nav system must cost them a large chunk of buyers (myself included).
As March 17 comes closer, Lady Noto and I just can't figure out what to do. The recent snowfall in Toronto reminded me of why I'll never buy a non-spectacular AWD vehicle, but Subaru isn't thrilling me like they used to.
...as for the Legacy, it doesn't seem as bloated as before, and will be modernized for features. So long as the price doesn't jump, it'll remain where it is - but definitely won't lead sales. I'm interested to see how the 2015 Outback is transformed.
We would consider the XV, even with the miniature power ratings, but Lady Noto requires some form of 'red' exterior paint, which is not offered on the XV (and lime green won't do).
Lease buyout seems most likely at this point since we really, really hate that the 2014's CVT defaults to "I" mode every time the car is turned on. If we could set it in "S" mode even by default, we'd consider it - but S# is really the only way we enjoy the drive - and it can't be worse on gas in S# than we currently get in the '11 XT (winter time 15L/100km of premium juice, all city). Summertime is typically around 9L/100km (more like 10L/100km if Lady Noto's the primary driver)
