I do agree that these days you can get a very high end, very quick sedan for a reasonable price and drive it for years as a second car without too much risk. You can also buy a disaster which is ok as long as you are prepared to walk away.
But as many here are maintaining, the odds are shifting to reasonable, fast and reliable being a real possibility. The next big risk I take will be an EV. Technically engaging rather than soul stirring.
