Based on normancw's comments above, the answer is a resounding 'No'. Sounds like the enthusiasts are very happy with the car and the solidifying ownership culture, after-market, etc. I do wonder though how non-enthusiast buyers feel about the car (must have been some?), and, even more, has the whole business model worked out for Toyota and Subaru I have no idea, but I wonder.
I'd take these surfacing speculative renderings as a good sign, it shows people care enough to create them, circulate them and then talk about them.
One thing that surprises me is that I'd have guessed Toyota and Subaru would have tried to extract a little more 'sporting equity' for their brands from these cars through advertising. The only thing I can observe that makes me wonder about ongoing commitment to the segment is the apparent absence of promotion...on the other hand, maybe I'm just not seeing it myself.
