Built a well-equiped 2015 GMC Canyon SLE Extended Cab Standard Box 4WD V6 4LE for $39,001.

Of note this is not the crew cab nor is it the top trim level. Also, this is about the same MSRP as my 2011 Sierra ext cab, 4.8 V8 work truck Nevada Edition. This is also a thousand dollars less than the price we paid back in 2009 for the Ridgeline (plus tax) which is a crew cab and loaded w/leather.

I don't know what the selling price of the Canyon would be.

Build a fully loaded F150 Lariat with the 3.5 + Sport package + 20in wheels and technology package for $58k!

While it sounds absurd to pay that much for a truck, as soon as Ford steps up the discount mill, I bet I'd be able to get one of these for $48k...sweet!

Now build a loaded Platinum. $58k is cheap in comparison.  :)

Looking forward to it! I dislike that you can't seem t get the all terrain package on the SLT model. Chevy has similar packaging - basically you can't get the off-road package in conjunction with leather seats and stuff like that.

Yeah, SirAquaman pointed that out to me the other day when we had lunch.  It does seem to be a strange oversight on the GMC product planners' part.

Spending a fair amount of time on the Volvo V60 site lately.

Can't figure out if the Premium Plus trim has Navigation or not. The Platinum definitely does, but its a bit unclear about the Premium Plus. Anybody know? ???

Platinum is a $3k upgrade and it seems to bring only the upgraded sound, auto dimming exterior mirrors, and *maybe* Navigation with RTT. If the model below already has GPS then the $3k is a really expensive upgrade for that stereo!

On the other hand the Premium Plus includes two free map updates so surely it has GPS! ???

Have to get the platinum to get the nav...

"Standard and Optional Features
The V60 is offered in T5 E-Drive FWD, T5 AWD and T6 AWD R-Design trim levels. The first two are further divided into Premier, Premier Plus and Platinum trims, while the R-Design comes only as a Platinum model.

The Premier T5 E-Drive FWD comes standard with the 2.0-liter motor and front-wheel-drive in addition to leather upholstery, a proximity key, an eight-speaker AM/FM/CD/SiriusXM stereo system with USB and AUX inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, roof rails, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Adaptive Digital Display, Sensus infotainment with seven-inch screen, city safety pre-collision warningsystem, LED daytime running lights, A/C, power windows and locks, power-adjustable front seats, cruise control and 17-inch alloy wheels.

To those items, the Premier Plus T5 E-Drive FWD adds a rearview camera, a quick-fold front passenger seat, a Homelink universal garage door opener, a grocery bag holder, power retractable exterior mirrors,

The Platinum T5 E-Drive FWD brings a navigation system, a 12-speaker premium audio system with stationary DVD viewing capability, accent lighting and auto-dimming exterior and exterior mirrors.

The T5 AWD and its sub-trim levels mirror the T5 E-Drive FWD's equipment but add the 2.5-liter engine and all-wheel-drive drive.

Similarly, the Platinum T6 AWD R-Design features all of the Platinum T5 E-Drive FWD's kit while upgrading to the 3.0-liter engine and all-wheel-drive. A host of sport-focused suspension enhancements are also included, as are active xenon headlights with headlight washers, R-Design sport seats and model-specific interior trim.

Six different optional equipment packages are available.

The Technology Package consists largely of driving aids such as Volvo's Pedestrian Detection technology. Cable of of detecting when a collision with a pedestrian is imminent, the system automatically triggers the V60's brakes to prevent an impact.

Other package highlights include Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning, Distance Alert, Lane Departure Warning and active high beams. V60s equipped with the Drive-E engine also get Lane Keeping Aid as part of the package - it uses a camera to keep tabs on lane markings and applies brake torque to get the wagon back on track if it begins to wander into an adjacent lane.

The Blind Spot Information System Package brings (of course) a blind spot info system in addition to front and rear parking assist and cross traffic alert, which warns the driver of approaching traffic in backup situations.

The Blind Spot Information System with Park Assist Pilot builds on the previous package with an automatic parallel parking system that steers the V60 into a spot while the driver controls the gearbox, gas pedal and brake pedal.

The Climate Package warms things up with heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a heated front windshield, heated windshield washer nozzles and an interior air quality system.

Available only on T5 models, the Sport Package includes sport seats, automatic transmission paddle shifters, a sport-tuned chassis and 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

Stand-alone options include active high beams, wood interior trim and 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels. "

Seems odd that you wouldn't be able to get nav as a standalone option on lower trims.

Interesting, thats as I feared, but still odd their website states that the Platinum Plus gets two free map updates. ::)

Also, the plot thickens as there seems to be a 2015.5 model.
Such as this one, a claimed Premium Plus that most definitely has a little NAV button on the dash.

I suspect a $10 - $15 k premium on the 235.  Mid 50 to start. Could be a great car though.
I love it when a plan comes together.

I suppose but that does strike as rather lazy. The only time I've seen that before is for Bluetooth that was a dealer add-on accessory, so the buttons were there to avoid having to change the HU / wheel.

Still, possible. Volvo has models without the Nav button whatsoever, though BUT the very long description doesn't mention navigation.

Was on the Volkswagen DE site yesterday, figuring out the dozens of optional features missing on the VW Tiguan. Not that I didn't know most of them already, but it was interesting to see all the option buttons filled in along with the icons on the dash (coded out on my father's Tiguan). Yes, it would up being 41k € (on-the-road price) but its a solid vehicle along with a solid err um....2.0 TDI 4motion, 6-speed manual drivetrain  :)

OK so I figured out the Volvo shennanigans, I think.

MY 2015 you do require Platinum to get Nav (yeesh).

MY 2015.5 cars all come with Nav prewire (hence the button), so the dealer can flash / activate the Nav. Its essentially just software since the Sensus system is just an Android tablet, basically. I wonder if you can therefore goon the dealer into doing this for really really cheap. If not, I was told about $1900 for Nav flash. A bit steep in this day and age but at least you can get it done.

Therefore by my calculations its about $1300 to go from PP+NAV to a Platinum trim (but non R-Design) car. For that money you get the 650W Harman Kardon stereo which is apparently mediocre, autodimming outside mirrors, and "accent lighting". Unless the base stereo is really awful, seems like its not worth the price of admission.

The base stereo sounds decent. Did a test drive a month back, hooked my phone Bluetooth up to the audio in about 20 seconds (intuitive to do, even w/o the owner's manual), played a couple songs.

In the US, one has to get the Platinum trim to get bi-xenon headlamps which is irritating (sat nav comes on the mid-range Premier model). The best way is probably to do Euro Delivery and pick options à la carte.
