Awesome. And a question...

I've been reading about the Performance Data Recorder elsewhere and it sounds really interesting. For you track guys...can you buy aftermarket devices and are they better than what the Corvette offers? I'm wondering if it's like GPS nav systems where consumers can pay for an OEM nav option for up to $2k or buy a much cheaper and better Garmin unit.

What's the story with the Performance Data Recorder units, has GM truly innovated here?

So the 460hp Corvette is take no prisoners performance car that has opened a serious can of whoop-ass on the majority of the performance and exotic car category.

And now they bring one with 160 more ponies?

 :o

I suspect all that power in the new chassis might mean some lap records will be rewritten.

http://www.aim-sportline.com/eng/products-car/smartycam-hd/index.htm  It's a grand.  But could cost you close to $1500 when all is said and done.  So it isn't horrible what they offer.

Cosworth is the company who's developed the feature being packaged with the Corvette. They are looking for other suitors as well.

...if the new chassis can handle it.

Yea...I reported that the next Z06 would have forced induction last year.
