Sounds interesting.  I have to fight algae in my aquarium tank.  They grow very quickly and easily under the right conditions.

I get a feeling it can be scaled exponentially, since they say the process is continuous. IIRC algae need sunlight, maybe carbs and I wonder if they also consume CO2. If so that's awesome and makes it a hugely important discovery.

There are a few pilot plants using variations of this technology. One in Arizona was producing algae at higher than expected levels, but they were having difficulty in harvesting the algae in a continuous process.

It is very promising though.

That would be pretty glorious actually. Probably particularly useful in China / India.


Chews up CO2, turn into biodiesel. Totally renewable. Win win win.
