The base Vette yet, but the Z06 or the ZR1 will stomp it. Thing is, back then there was one version of the Vette and it was a slow, strangled, pathetic car.

You must be forgetting the ZR1 which bowed in 89/90.

No, Im not, in the mid 80s, the Vette, along with pretty well anything on the market, were a pathetic shadow of their former selves.Yes, the ZR1 finally saw the Corvette go back to being a proper sports car, but in the 1980s it wasnt really anything to call home about.

Well the turbo Trans Am was quicker than the ZR-1....which is why I was disputing GM cancelling a car because it was quicker than a Vette.  That's all...

The turbo T/A was quicker than the ZR1....it had 300 horses, the ZR1 was about 400......

Yep.  Go look.  (They were the same...depending on who was doing the testing).

0-60 in ~4.6  1/4 mile low 13.xx

Back to the Mustang. Ford seems to have checked all the boxes (my favourite phrase) regarding the styling: subtle changes, improvements on the problematic areas of the previous generation (e.g. rear end), slightly smaller, a strong corporate identity, and it looks awesome! Great news that the turbo 4 will be an "upscale" option. Means we don't have to pay extra for the very capable, and preferred, six (for those not going with the V8). IF this car comes in sub 3400 lbs., and IF it can start in the mid to high 20's, then it's a screaming deal.
