Am I the only one excited about this? Contender for the next DD.

Ive always said they should have made a Ridgeline HD or Superduty or something with 1/2 ton capabilities. Something that actually competed with the Avalanche in terms of towing and hauling capacity. Ive always liked the idea and execution of the Ridgeline, but it was always a toy truck to me.
Lighten up Francis.....

Same here, my wife always wanted one over the SUV's we had.

Good for a guy in the office who visits the site once a week, though  ;)

Oh more than good enough!! Ive tried to stuff my 3/4 ton into those parkades downtown, sometimes its just easier to pick the cheapest car and put two wheels on top of it  ;D

Your wife sounds very smart. The "truck" is so handy for dirtbiking, mountain biking etc. No fiddling with bike racks or removing wheels. Just buy a Dakine tailgate protector and toss the bikes in the back and go. The lockable trunk is excellent for keeping the muddy/dirty stuff secure.

I think the I will keep the Ridgeline long term as my weekend adventure toy and winter car.  A older XJ-R will become the  summer queen.

I know a couple of Ridgeline owners. They only wanted truck-like utility, not an actual truck, and love how comfortable it is driving on a car like frame. I still bug them that the engine is mounted the wrong way.  ;D But the Ridgeline is like my old Mazda 5, the owners get it.

This is good news! I'm looking forward to the next Ridge. Our's has been flawless and has performed as promised. It's often criticized as not being a real truck but I guess it's one of this vehicles you have to own to appreciate. Ours has been used like a truck…tow, haul, offroad and as a DD by my wife.

I expect the new one to be good...and expensive.

I'm hoping for:

More front legroom
Better seats
Improved fuel economy
Quieter on the highway
Next generation nav/interface

And I really hope they maintain it's ride/handling, relative size and extreme utility.

X2.

Plus the transverse engine makes the turning radius to big. Although it keeps the ride height low and the interior floor flat... I want more torque.

I just want a truck with a lower bed that isn't a base model Tacoma. Ram -- build one on the 300 platform and call it the Dakota, please.

The step in the F150 and Superdutys make the bed very accessible...... ;D

;D They should make the pencil-neck designers push a 4 stroke dirtbike into the bed with a 6' ramp. ::) See how that goes. My Ridgeline is doable with no step or help but barely. My previous Dakota Quad was better.

Thats why you have a double ramp so you can just walk beside it.....or you can Evil Knievel it and ride it into the bed  :P.

Easy to step in maybe, but not necessarily easy to load.  My wife struggles to lift a giant BOB duelly stroller into our F150 bed, and it's about as low as it gets (2WD, regular suspension).  The new half-ton bed heights are substantially higher.  And in some of the taller trucks, reaching over the side of the bed to pull anything out is nearly impossible unless you are gigantic.  For a vehicle designed to perform work, it surprises me that many trucks are evolving towards making work harder!

I've never been a fan of Ridgeline, but I'm glad Honda is sticking with it.  More options in the midsize truck segment (like every other segment...) is always appreciated.

I guess Ive had a truck so long Ive found ways around this, climbing a tire is the easiest way to get into the box by far.

But then the double ramp has to go somewhere while driving or on the trails,. With the Ridge the ramp fits in the lockable trunk along with my gearbag, tie downs and tools. ..

How can you  get more legroom in a small truck ? Get a full size truck  ;D

What an odd decision, especially considering it's sales.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
