I think fuel economy plays a part, but more so in Europe than here.

Import tuners love turbo engines. That's a demographic that hasn't really gravitated to the Mustang in the past. I'm fairly certain we'll be seeing 400+hp ecoboosts roaming around before very long.

This isn't really new. The SVO Mustang was more expensive than the 5L back in the day.

Yes and I bought in in 1983 for $21k  :fall:

I noticed the V6 in the 2014 Mustang put out 305 HP and 280 Torque (lb-ft), whereas the 2015 V6 model is listed as having 300 and 270.

Hmmm......looks like Ford decided to de-tune the new V6 model slightly?

Good catch. That's interesting. Probably to bolster the difference between the base V6 and EcoBoost models. Or, maybe, to improve fuel efficiency while keeping the same performance as the new car is significantly lighter than the old one.

I never really liked the Mustang until this version but it really depends on how this one drives. Overall exterior looks smart but interior is so-so IMO. Great that it has updated suspension. Look forward to seeing this in person someday in V8 form. Very interesting they have 4cyl turbo but not at all surprised to see it. Ford products are starting to appeal to me again (Focus ST and now the Mustang) - who knew!

As a current owner of a 2011 5.0 GT, all I can say is that it doesn't matter to me what Ford does with the V6 or the Turbo 4.  My Mustang will always have a V8 under the hood.  And this one may not be enough of a change to entice me to trade in what I already have.  Has anyone heard about the sound system yet?  I know it is going to have My Ford Touch, but please Ford, put a WAYYYYY better stereo in this thing than the Shaker 500 or 1000.  Those old Shaker systems are just embarrassing.  Not that you spend much time with the volume UP when you have the 5.0 to soothe your senses, but I still wouldn't mind if it had a better sound system.  Not really interested in dumping a bunch of money down on an after market system.  Just want a good factory set up.

I had one of the louder BOV on the market for a bit.  People on sidewalks would JUMP when it blew off.

I sold it after the novelty wore off.  Stealth FTW...

Agreed.  Same - I went back to stock recircs.  In fact, the port size on the stock recircs in my car were larger than any aftermarket BOV.

I regularly shake my head at mine too... sounds like crap.

Thank you for sharing my pain!  It really is quite bad, isn't it.  :surrend:
