AWD is essential in this market so Hyundai should see a nice boost in sales.

Looks very nice, certainly worth a look now that it has AWD. I rented Genesis a few times on business travel, certainly one the smoothest as quietest car I have driven.

O.P. : Are you sure, a CO2, not a CO sensor? What is that for?

The car looks allright, definitely more Audi than before, I just don't like the hood gap in front, looks worse in light colours.

Thats a very good looking car, 5L V8 and AWD, this should be a player in the market.....if people can get over the Presidents Choice badge.
Lighten up Francis.....

100% sure. They say CO2 in the release. I am guessing this is more aimed at Chinese cities to warn drivers of bad air quality.

Very nice! Can't wait to see what the pricing will be like as well as output from the new V6. Some potential here for it to be a sub 50k challenger in the AWD performance sedan category along with the Q50, SHO and others. Styling alone certainly sets it off nicely and there's so few on the road they'll really stand out vs a Q50 or C350.
My other Honda is an MP4-31!

Rear, nice.
Front, plain and gaping (even Toyota did a better job).  Not a fan.
Side, meh.
Squared-out interior, looks dated to me already.
adding AWD, great!

$50k on a Hyundai?  Hmmm...still couldn't do it.

The CO2 sensor is for the interior and increases the circulation of outdoor air when CO2 levels are high. Higher levels of CO2 could cause the driver to feel drowsy.

Good observations above.  The driving dynamics are key.  The "Snow" mode does also need testing.

I'm all for this direction from Hyundai and expect first Aluminum Manufacturing to be announced soon.
This is where Acura should have gone but they do not have resources.

I found Concept striking and this tamed down--especially hood area where my A7's hood goes to grill.
Back door window may roll all the way down.

The beauty of A7, and this may be in works for Hyundai, are the S7/RS7 performance packages from
a marketing niche / Volume divider perspective.  Even my S trim is more striking than normal version A7--details not noticed by non-owners
but important at resale time.  Also the two radar units in lower front corners from Adaptive Cruise Control,
once you have it, you know the capability differential between A7s.  It is a bit like 911 ownership vs. whaletale
broad rear shoulder 911 turbo.  We may yet see some fine tuning just as I'm sure gaps will disappear
with production version.

I now have decided to go to Detroit Intl. Car Show to see this in the flesh.

Who drives around with HVAC completely shut off? Regardless the weather it will either get too cold or hot in the car. And if windows are open then the sensor is useless anyway.
I suspect a typo in the press release. The clue is LS 430 -LS 460 and maybe earlier are using CO sensors to detect bad air quality outside and shut off the air intake until things clear up. That is extremely useful in city traffic. CO2 though - I see no point why they'd bother.

The ball is bouncing in the right direction. The interior is a big step up from the very dated and plain previous model.

I think it would have been interesting to see what they could have come up with if they'd come to market with a C class/3 series sized car for less. I would have thought that would have been the logical place to start as that's where the volume is.  Luxury=big seems to be old thinking.  :-\

I'd say, in some ways, the Kia Cadenza is a solid Lincoln MKZ competitor. So much that Kia placed the car directly across from the MKZ at the LA Auto Show.

I see a switch from exterior styling inspired by MB S-Class/Lexus LS to BMW 7-Series...
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...
