I love that wine so much, and I don't even like wine!  Enjoy.

Had a bottle of Verve Clicquot Rose that somebody gave us with lobster and scallops tonight for Valentines Day. Actually I was a little underwhelmed. I think I prefer the regular Clicquot. :-\

Tried this last night for a nice change over the usual brands - 2006 Balbas Reserve (yup, 14 years old). Made from Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and spent 24 months in French oak prior to bottling. Full bodied and 15%!
Rated a 91 by Robert Parker.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Wife and I had a bottle of this with our dinner last night.  First bottle of red we've opened in a few months.  We had it with a cheese tray and it was a near perfect pairing.  I'm not a huge wine connoisseur but i found this stuff exceptionally good.  :lick:

^ Interesting Tom. I don't recall noticing that at our local NB Liquor.  Price point?

It's been sitting in the wine rack for a couple of years so I don't remember exactly.  I do remember I bought it locally and believe it was ~$25.  :-\

Had this with dinner tonight.  This is from my wife's favorite NS winery and is the final bottle of the case we bought last time we there.  We are now down to our last six bottles in a rack that holds 120.  Good excuse for a road trip to restock!  ;D

Picked this up today at the LCBO - Sister's Run Old Testament Cabernet Sauvignon 2017.
Rated a 93.
Will crack it open over the next little while and report back.
Railton

Save your money folks - what a disappointment.
Who ever rated this a 93 was on drugs...and not good drugs.
Thin, fresh and way to firm for me.

Yes, and great place for a road trip. Especially in a sports car.  Also a good place for social distancing vacation  ;D...

Looks great guys!!!

Tom, we're planning on heading East again (PEI this time) this summer, will be in your neck of the woods most likely on August 7th, plan is to visit HRB again. Will have to pick your brain on some wineries.

Had this one with dinner last night, another great Californian Cab Sauvignon. This one is more medium body, taste a bit of cherry & vanilla as well.

Wow, 3 months since the last wine review - way too long.
Picked up a bottle of 3 Finger Jack the other day at the LCBO. Pleasantly surprised although I figured anything Cab marker 15% would be worth trying. Exceptionally smooth, dark, full bodied and easy drinking, great cab taste with chocolate and dark fruit. almost jammy - more like a Zinn.
The LCBO write up indicates 14.6% but the bottle is marked 15%.
I would choose it again.

Discovered a new red last night - Conundrum by the same vintners as 'Caymus'!  A red blend which is smooth and enjoyable just on its own as a sipper. 14.2 %. Highly recommended.
On sale at the LCBO now for $21.95

^Nice! Will have to give it a try!!

I've been meaning to post the last couple we've enjoyed. The one we had last night was The Show Cabernet Sauvignon, and it was great! Very bold & even just pouring it into the decanter the aroma was something else! Another great Californian Cab!

https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/red-wine-14001/the-show-cabernet-sauvignon-383885

The other one we had a couple of weeks ago, Three Thieves Cabernet Sauvignon, this wasn't as bold as The Show was, but still full bodied with a bit more of a spicey, or thinner finish to it.
