The wife and I are really enjoying this 19 Crimes Cab Sav.  Has anyone had it?

^. My wife and I tried it and thought it was quite good.  Bought it at sobeys.  Still find it strange that you can buy wine at the grocery store but not beer.

Anyways, kind of conflicted about whether we should take the roadster to Annapolis Valley soon for a wine run.  The only problem is lack of space to bring back the wine.  Would have to pack really light and might be able to bring back a case.   :-\

Definitely take the Z3, will make it a more enjoyable trip even though you'll have less space.  My wife and I plan on doing this same in September and it will be the S2000 all the day.  The MR2 not so much appropriate, even though it would technically have more cargo room.

Ya learn something every day.  Note the contents listed on the wine label below:

Apparently, using fish bits to filter wine is common but it was news to me.

Another trip across the frontier in the car means carrying some more wine back. Not expensive stuff, but spoilt for choice  :P

The rosé of l'Ardèche will be interesting. The Chartreuse is liquor I bought in the Rhône-Alpes.

Haven't had a really good one in a while.  This one is that and then some.

I don't know who Faustino is, but what's in the bottle is a thing of beauty.
I spotted this one last week in LCBO.  It was on sale for $5 off (i think it was $5..) so, yes that was what first attracted me, then i saw the vintage.  2005.
It is more than i typically spend on a bottle, but decided to give it a go.  You don't see many bottles with that age for roughly $30.

Opened it tonight & it is fantastic.  Smoky red fruits, a bit sweet and can tell it saw quite a bit of time in barrel.  Aged 24 months in French & American oak, then for another 36 in bottle.
If you like wines with a smoky character and barrel aging, you'll love this one.

Not on sale anymore, but has me wanting to go back and grab more.  $36 is getting up there in price for a bottle, but it is a big step up from the ~$20 bottles i normally buy.

^. Hmmm, more than I usually spend as well, but it's our anniversary next weekend so maybe I'll seek out a bottle of that for the occasion.  The bottle will impress her at least.   ;D

Last year it was late November when I found the expensive bottle I stashed away in the garage for the ocaission...duh, whoops...lol

Le beaujolais nouveau est arrivé !!  :D

I'm surprised no one here celebrated ! Picked up a bottle last weekend just after the official release date 15/11 (always the 3rd thursday in nov). Saving it for this weekend when I make a bigger meal.

Someone please buy the 2016 and tell me I'm not crazy.  I don't usually drink red wine (hate tannins), but I loved this one very much.  Our hosts served it with beef tenderloin with a red wine reduction.  It was the most delicious red I've ever had.

Was deep in the Doubs/Jura region the last few days. Picked up a bottle of AOC Arbois.....will see how it tastes. Between the wines, cheeses, saucisse all produced with AOC denomination there, I could easily spend a week just having a gastronomic discovery. No other country on this planet offers such a diverse palette of gastronomic choices for gourmands......

IQ is spoiled as we live on the shores of Erie wine route. We're literally several hundred meters from one of the wineries...then kilometres from several more.

This is her "daily driver" http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/sprucewood-shores-lady-in-red-vqa/266486#.XCw6hxhyado

But IQ often asks me to grab a bottle or two Bordeaux. Both of these are picked up from the "Vintages" area of the LCBO. I can't comment, as I don't drink wine.

She said this one was "good".

She said this one was fantastic and super smoooooth. She indicated it should be bought again and again. LOL

Thanks, guys!  Are there any others out there that are similar in smoothness?

The Apothic Red (which is a California blend) is another smooth one that has hint of vanilla. http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/apothic-red/234369#.XCzccR6vA0M

7 Deadly Zins is another, but its $27, so a different price point. http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/michael-david-7-deadly-zins-old-vine-zinfandel/59311#.XCzc7R6vA0M

Cupcake Red Velvet is another one similar to the Apothic. http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/cupcake-red-velvet/260851#.XCzdyx6vA0M

The Columbia Crest is great as well, but might be pushing the tannin limit for you. http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/columbia-crest-grand-estates-cabernet-sauvignon/460154#.XCzeKx6vA0M

This Santa Carolina for $9 is a nice one as well, not strong tannins from what I recall. http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/columbia-crest-grand-estates-cabernet-sauvignon/460154#.XCzeKx6vA0M

Opened a bottle of this one last night. Really nice Cab. at a good price
Having the rest of it tonight with some smoked beef on a bun & fries for dinner.  Matches up great with that.

I've posted about this one before, worth mentioning again as it's $2 off.
A steal at $13 imo.

First of all, how do you open a bottle & not finish it?  :stick:  :rofl2:  I don't think we've ever not finished a 750ml bottle  Sounds like a good one, will keep an eye out for it next time I'm at the LCBO.

We had the Carnivor Zinfandel the other night, we usually have their Cab, but WOW was the Zin really good as well! It's $2 off right now http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/carnivor-zinfandel/569905#.XGwN3KI3mUk

When we were in Tremblant last week, we had a nice Spanish wine, Red Guitar, but it's not in stock at the LCBO anymore. It paired very well with the steak we were having, it was more on the dry side, with a nice aftertaste, not as bold and as smooth as the Carnivor mentioned above, a little more sharp on the palate  https://pullthecork.wordpress.com/2011/02/01/red-guitar-of-spain/
