Will check out 'The Show' later this week. Thanks!
Railton
I'd say The Show was better than the Three Thieves, so much so that I am thinking to go back & buy a few more bottles of it, heck maybe a case even!

Discovered a new red last night - Conundrum by the same vintners as 'Caymus'!  A red blend which is smooth and enjoyable just on its own as a sipper. 14.2 %. Highly recommended.
On sale at the LCBO now for $21.95

I really enjoyed the bottle we had back in April....https://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php?topic=85915.msg1489938#msg1489938  It was one of my favorites from the last time we bought a supply of wine.

Reminds me that our wine rack is essentially empty other than a few bottles of odd stuff we've been gifted over the years.  Normally by this time of year we've picked up a couple of cases by now on our road trips but didn't do any road trips this year, at least not yet.

Edit:  Just checked an it's $30 a bottle here.  :P

We had another couple of bottles of that Conundrum and it really is a good wine...at $21. Paying $25 for it and I would think that there are others I would try.
A couple of disappointments this weekend. San Pedro 1865 Selected Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2018. Robert Parker states 90 but OMFG, I sure wouldn't.
https://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/san-pedro-1865-selected-vineyards-cabernet-sauvignon-2015/37911
And Rob, that 'Show' was not to our taste. Maybe we had a bad bottle. ???
I've been looking for more of that Three Fingers Jack we had a while back and I see it's pretty much sold out except for Hearst, Kenora and Parry Sound! THE GREAT WHITE NORTH!

Not to worry Rob - sometimes I think my taste in wine must be all backwards.
That 1865 wine I thought was :censor: even Wine Spectator ranked in 91 which is just crazy talk to me.
There's 45 bottles available in Vintages at the store nearest me - I see that as it's not selling well as there's lots of wine snobs around me.

Ted, finished off the bottle of the Show & just opened a bottle of the Carnivor Cabernet Sauvignon. The Carnivor is more full bodied, not as dry as The Show, but I do enjoy both. Will bring you a bottle of my Dad's homemade wine & then everything will taste fantastic to you afterwards, HA, HA, HA!!!

What's the best fruity, smooth, non-acidic red for about $25? (In the LCBO currently)

Hmmmm....

I like this, not sure if its too acidic for you though... https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/red-wine-14001/francis-coppola-diamond-collection-ivory-label-cabernet-sauvignon-521021

This might be a little less acidic... https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/red-wine-14001/santa-carolina-reserva-de-familia-cabernet-sauvignon-408658

This is a very nice full bodied, smooth California Cabernet Sauvignon at the reasonable  price of $21.50, but its not available from the LCBO. I order it from the Small  Winemakers Collection and you have to order a case at a time (price includes delivery).

Surprisingly good Mondavi tonight. I should let Mrs. Railton go to pick up the wine more often. ;D
This is her new favourite.

Trying a "new to us" Shiraz tonight, so far it pretty much matches the description from the LCBO bang on "Deep ruby/garnet in colour; rye bread, dark fruit and chocolate aromas; extra dry, medium-to-full bodied; dark berry, herbs and spice flavours and balanced acidity with ripe medium tannins and medium length finish."

This bottle was part of a gift pack sitting on our doorstep when we got home from walking the dog this afternoon.  Thought it looked familiar.   :)
