New Model Reliability
« on: November 22, 2013, 05:57:08 am »
I belong to Truedelta.com and received an update today on their latest reliability stats. The snippet below refers to referred to recently introduced or updated models....interesting

"Among 2014s, the Mazda6, Mazda CX-5, and Subaru Forester have been nearly problem-free so far, while the Jeep Grand Cherokee...has not.

Among car models redesigned or updated for 2013...

Happy faces: Audi A4 (and related models), Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Lexus RX, Toyota RAV4

Moderate: Acura RDX, Chevrolet Traverse (and sibs), Dodge Dart, Ford C-Max, Ford Escape, Hyundai Elantra GT, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mazda CX-5, Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ

Sad faces: Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, Nissan Pathtfinder (problems with the latest CVT in the Nissans)"

Nice to see Mazda putting out some quality products   They need to turn things around and get profitable. Nissan seams to be going in the other direction.

Yep, Style, quality and now reliability all seem to be going the wrong way for Nissan. Too bad, I was a fan of a lot of their stuff 10-15 years ago. :-\

Nice to see a FGC (A4) scoring well.

TruDelta quite often doesn't have enough respondents to get a statistically significant sample.

For the Fusion, CR rates everything much better than average except for the audio and power equipment. Not exactly a crap wagon. For some reason those two are rated as worse in the 1.6L than in the 2.0L, which doesn't make sense as they are identical, part of the problem with any self reported survey.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Our service reps get Fusion's as company cars. While they liked the preious gen. one's, they report the current ones are crap, tinny feeling. I understand the current gen is assembled in Mexico?

Yup at the Hermosillo plant. The previous gen of the Fusion was made there too. Ford/Mazda have been building at that plant since the late 1980s.

Mazda has built some of the most reliable cars ever to roll off of a showroom floor.  They have a history of taking chances with the RX-7, Miata, etc, and I"m rooting for them.  They've been a little hit and miss lately, but could easily find their groove.

Offer it with AWD and I'm double in!

For a while the plant did the Mercury Tracer and 323. I'm not sure it there was anything else produced for Mazda there.

Mine was built in Mexico...almost 110K and no issues other than a TSB to re-flash the TCM around the 40k mark to fix a subtle shifting problem.  Only weird issue I have ever noticed is a resonance somewhere in the dash when it hits the 4k rpm mark on really cold days.

My old Mazda B2000 felt like it would run forever.

If the same car was assembled in Canada would it be less tinny?
