There is somebody on a cul-de-sac in my neighbourhood that has their trailer parked and setup across the sidewalk. Wonder what their neighbours think about that?

Letting people store their trailers in the front is a slippery slope.  I would nip that crap in the bud, before you know it your neighbourhood will look like Sunnyvale.

iT depends if you live in a city with small lots or more country living with some descent size land.

A friend had a motorhome he used every weekend (kid raced karts) and the neighbours still complained if he left it in the driveway during the week.
If you can park it in the backyard that's great, it's now a spare "cottage" for kids and visitors.   I sit in Roxie in the backyard and use the laptop sometimes, read, etc., it's nice and quiet.

Forget the toy hauler - they're too heavy, and you'll never be able to pull one with the Tundra.

I personally love pop-up trailers, as they're easy to tow and store.  Their biggest drawback (aside from setup/teardown) is a lack of storage.  Because everything has to fit in a lower profile, they have much less storage than a conventional hardside trailer.  This means you end up packing a lot of extraneous items into the tow vehicle.  This isn't a problem for US, but you'll probably want to bring the bikes, which will cut down on the items you can pack into the back of the truck.

The beautiful thing about a pop-up, is their ability to just about camp anywhere.  Because you can unzip all the sides, you can get away with not having air conditioning as airflow through the trailer is unparalleled, and is something that a hardside trailer can't match.  All the systems in a pop-up can be run off either battery/solar (so the lights, water pump, furnace fan, etc) or propane (stove, fridge).  Hardside trailers are similar, but there's just something about a pop-up trailer that makes it easier to boondock in.

We tried both pop-up and hardside.  Pop-ups do have their advantages, except when you intend to get frisky.  Then they shake and rattle like a mofo, no matter how hard you try to stabilize things, and if there are other campers around you...  :rofl2:  Don't ask me how I know.   ;D

I always liked the idea of something like this:

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/jalopnik.com/a-2018-ford-f-150-diesel-pulling-an-airstream-basecamp-1827374253/amp

Small trailer, but nice, just big enough to house you in inclement weather. And tents for the kids if they’re around.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

^^^  Even with a 3/4 ton the sway on those things is a serious problem.

Yeah I'm not getting a pop-up.

Fair Enough.  They're not for everyone.  Me?  I love 'em.  I'd replace our current pop-up with another pop-up, if I could.  I'd want a little bigger, so a 12' box with king/queen beds either end, as well as a dining slide to open up a bit of floor space.  I love the feeling of 'camping' that you get with a pop-up, while still being up off the ground in a comfy bed.

Unfortunately for me my wife doesn't want another pop-up.  She wants a hardside trailer.  I think we'll compromise with a hybrid.  Max 18-20' box, but with a hybrid, because the beds fold down from the ends, you effectively have the floor space of a 26-27'er.  I want our trailer to be easy to tow, because I'd like the option of going out west to the Rockies, or driving out East to visit my family in NB.  I don't want to be lugging around a heavy 24-26' trailer that will result in me white knuckling it for a solid week of 8-hour a day drives.

Private buyers beware.  Vast majority will have heavy liens on them.

I think I have a buyer for my trailer.  They're coming by tomorrow to pick it up.

Got close to asking, and more than I would have settled for.

And I continued the trend by selling for more than I bought it   ;D
