Fyi, that hybrid won't be bear resistant unless you fold up and close the bed end.

I know. that’s  when we can use the table for a bed.  Most camping In The park is well protected incamped a lot with tents back in the day

Nice revive.  I'm more interested in pop-up trailers rather than travel trailers, but still, I guess the title applies.

My BIL has a 23' Micro-Lite trailer with a similar layout (although different).  No slide.  His priority was weight, as he's towing it with a V6 4-Runner, and he's approaching the limit of his tow vehicle.  http://www.forestriverinc.com/product-details.aspx?LineID=203&Image=5387&ModelID=897#Main

My wife has seen travel trailers with the outdoor kitchen like the Jayco you posted, and thinks it is a great idea.  We never do any of our cooking inside our trailer, preferring to cook everything outside under the awning.

We're going to the Manitoba RV show this weekend (as indicated in a previous thread), so we'll have a look at some of the trailers that are in our price and tow range (mostly pop-ups), as well as some of the bigger, more flashy trailers that are just fun to look at.

I looked at a very small toy hauler from micro light. Very nice for what it was. EDIT different company!   http://www.microlitetrailer.com

I still like those A-Liner hard wall pop ups. And I see they're making traditional soft pop ups now.

I also like the A-liners.  Their setup looks a lot easier than a pop-up.  Unfortunately, space is limited, so it's really only good for a couple without kids.  But hey, maybe in 15 years, that will be me.

The larger one we saw (we looked at the smaller one you describe) has a large main bed for parents and 2 smaller beds for kids.

Ahhh, smart.  I didn't know that was your thought process.

It’s mostly for cold night though. I remember one day in June it was 28 degrees and  the next morning there was 3inches of snow on the grown.  Weird weather here

I really like the light weight market it they are so expensive like Scamp trailers for escape.  which are pretty much new age bikers. there was those T@b but I don’t know what happened to them.

Yeah, I am not, nor have I ever been, a founding member of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or Aerosmith .  Which you would pretty much have had to have been to afford a rig like that.

Don't some US states restrict trailers to 53 feet?  Or does that apply to commercial units only?

Went to the show.  It was HUGE.  Lots to see, hundreds of trailers.  Only ONE pop-up, disappointingly.  That's what I'm in the market for, and I was hoping to see more.

Still cool to see all the trailers though.  We traipsed through more than a few $100k, 40' fifth wheels that were almost bigger than my house.  Certainly, more luxurious.  I was really interested in the smaller, more affordable trailers.  The 20'-24' class.  It's interesting to see some of the layouts and how well they use such a small space to cram in as much usability as possible.

Outdoor kitchens seem to be the new thing on travel trailers these days.  You get a little fridge, sink, and stove.  Wonderful idea, as you can cook under the awning while hanging out with people that are around the fire, rather than being all cooped up inside a trailer.  Same concept as our Pop-Up (stove moves outside), but you have direct access to a sink and a fridge.

Looked at some accessories like LED bulbs and what not.  They are about 5-10x the price of those found on Amazon.  So, no thank you!!!! I'll just keep on ordering all my RV accessories from Amazon.

Those Rockwood Mini-lites are the nicer brands.  Looking at quality of materials used and such.  Like that kitchen in the pic.  Some just have shallow plastic rinse bins.  Many of the Jayco's, mid trim line, have a BBQ that is on a swinging arm, that comes beside that stove.  So you have the BBQ, Stove, Sink, and fridge!

We’re camped next to this right now. Neat unit, built on an F-550 4x4 chassis instead of the usual van chassis. Diesel, too.

It’s not in the picture, but they’ve got a stock-looking Wrangler Rubicon that they tow behind on the trailer. Nice setup, because you can leave the camper parked for the week and just use the Wrangler to drive around.
