There's a trifecta for you........three of the least desirable cars brands lining up in an alliance of mediocrity.  ;D

"...., it is firstly expected that two new sedan models would be launched under the Mitsubishi brand" I don't know if the Renault-Nissan group are aware that the Mitsu brand was late to market in Canada and does not carry much weight with consumers here. This seems like the wrong approach for Ren-Niss to take and I agree it cries of desperation.

I have a feeling that Mitsu's the desperate partner here. The SM7 would fill the void left by the Galant nicely, while the past-its-due-date Lancer will be eclipsed (pun intended) by the C-segment car.  Being from Renault-Samsung, the cars would not be carbon copies of the Altima / Sentra, even though some dirty bits may be shared. The Galant shared elements with Avenger / Sebring and it did not show (unlike, say, the GC-"derived" Routan at VW).

Lol.  Nissan/Renault has a partnership with Mercedes Benz already - for engines, transmissions and platforms.

Now with Mitsu?  I am guessing this is more to benefit Mitsu.

The partnership with Nissan is more geared toward Infiniti, though.

Meant to say "partnership with MB" but I think you knew what I meant. I've been awake for over 30 hours.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Back to the discussion.
What do you think of Renault building Mitsu's next midsize car (replacing the Galant)?
