Toyota Camry, RAV4, Prius V No Longer Recommended by CR
« on: October 28, 2013, 10:11:29 pm »
"The new small-overlap crash test has forced Consumer Reports to drop its coveted “recommended” badge from a few models, including the popular Toyota  Camry."

I wonder if this will impact US Camry sales since many people follow CR.

If you care for Consumer Reports...

On the same note : "The redesigned 2014 Subaru Forester got the top predicted-reliability score as Japanese automakers dominated the 2013 Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability rankings."

even if you don't follow consumer reports, I think the headlines alone will be enough bad PR for sales to at least somewhat be impacted.   How much, only time will tell.
But you have to wonder, first the Corolla and now the Camry, Prius V and RAV 4 - how can the brand not be impacted from this?

i feel like the overlap of people who drive camry/rav4 and people who read CR is quite large. i'd love to somehow know just how many units the bad press prevents from being purchased.

while it doesn't prevent me.  I know if my mother in-law seen this, she wouldn't buy the vehicle.
