When I read the title, I figured TTBob was coming to visit the rest of us...

Oh I will...   ;D

P.S. I actually nearly went on this tour. ha ha.

lack of refining capacity for diesel was one of the reason I've heard to "justify" the price spread.

Anybody know if the 2nd generation Touareg is more reliable than the 1st generation one?

Diesel refining capacity. Road diesel  has to compete with oil for heating and jet fuel.

rumours are yes... but I have no data to back that up.

you thinking of a Touareg?

I only know one person who has one.  I don't see them very often.  He actually changed from a Toyota Tundra to a Touareg...  last time I spoke to him - he was loving it.

In reality not really, if it had the reliability of a Lexus, I would consider it much more, but if it did we would see a lot more of them.  Like the design, interior, capability and fuel efficiency of the diesel.  I hope the Tiguan gets about 15% bigger, and has a diesel, and that it can tow at least 3500lbs, that's more realistic.

Just not that many diesel SUV's.  Not sure how the older Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD was.  The Mercedes GLK is too small.

It will be a contest, but I have a strong feeling, you will be getting a vehicle sooner.  As I have just started year 2 out of 4 year car loan, goal is to pay off the car before getting another one.

Depending on what I got going on, I may go to the Detroit Auto Show.  Have never been, and I hear its much better than the Toronto Auto Show, been several times.  I was disappointed when the Mazda6 was there, it was sectioned off!
