Given the somewhat mixed reception the new Q50 is receiving good used G's may become even more in demand.

^ agree 100% the latest generation or Q is a poor effort IMO. The G37 Series was a great effort by Infinity and it appears the Ghosn accountants from Nissan have taken over. What a shame.

I’ve the G for 3.5 years now. Outside of putting gas in it and changing oil and filters, nothing has gone wrong or broke with it.
It’s going to be hard to let it go for something potentially….temperamental.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Interesting... is this hint #1?

^...it appears the Ghosn accountants from Nissan have taken over. What a shame.

Not sure if it's that so much - everything i've read about the Q is the focus is shifting more to the luxury side, but that attempt seems to be a fail.
I've always loved the exterior design of the G, but the interior quality was a letdown which would push me to Lexus.

Both Q and IS have failed to be marked as "recommended' by Customer Reports. You can read why here: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/10/22/2014-infiniti-q50-lexus-is-250-not-recommended-consumer-reports/

The G was one of Nissan's finest products in terms of value and performance.

I have had negative feelings about the Q50 until I saw one on the road yesterday.  It looks A LOT better in person.

Mixed reviews about steering feel for Q50 shows that it's really up to what the driver is looking for in a car.

I had two of these in years past.  One was rwd and one awd.

Both were perfectly reliable and fun to drive.  I prefered the rwd model as it felt quicker and more nimble.  I put about 120k on each and then went to an M35 which was written off in a collision.

I drive an Acura TL now, but still miss the Infinitis.  The G's are quicker and handle better which equals more fun to drive.  IMHO the only advantage of the TL over the G's is fuel economy.

I've had two G's as well (03 G35 and 07 G35 Sport) and both were dead reliable.  Here's my 07 G35 Sport........damn I wish I still had this car!!  :(

Other than the exterior/interior design, would the Nissan 350/370 carry the same kind of performance and reliability??  Just trying to think what is the major advantage of getting the Infinity G coupe over the Nissan?  Haven't been in a 350/370, which is why I ask....

The Z is smaller and a lot sportier, the G coupe was more of a grand tourer. Weight wise, I think they were about the same. Reliability would be no different as they use the same drivetrain.

^ Actually IIRC, the Z is about 300lbs lighter than the G Coupe.  Even the G Sedan is lighter than the Coupe.

Thought they were all about 3300-3500lbs....could be wrong though.

Just going by memory, I believe the G Coupe is in the 3600-3700lb range.

Mixed reviews about steering feel for Q50 shows that it's really up to what the driver is looking for in a car.

While shopping recently I saw 2 of the Q50 on the lot, nothing short of impressive, all luxury on the inside and yes it looks dam good on the outside in person.  No shortcuts here at all.  To me Nissan is looking to attract that ES350 driver, lawyers, doctors etc.
