How much do you love your car?
« on: October 21, 2013, 04:03:24 pm »
Currently I have no desire to buy a new car. I can honestly say that after four years my love for the GTI+ hasn't changed.  With the Stage1 it has plenty of power and any more is a waste on FWD, very functional for our needs of hiking, camping and cycling and returns descent fuel economy for the way I drive.

I've thought about what I would replace it with and have a hard time thinking of anything that would be the equal or better for the same amount of money. Watching videos of the MK7 Golf R gets me excited but that is still a little time away.

I voted 9 as the car isn't perfect but close to it for my needs.

i voted 7.

i love the car in general, but i'm worried a lot of the times i drive it, and it detracts from the enjoyment.   and harsh ride.....  i don't like driving it in the city.  love taking it to the mountains though.  if i lived somewhere outside the city and didn't have to drive inside, i would rate it 9.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

I gave the S2000 a 10 as there is honestly nothing that I dislike about the car.  If I could vote twice, I'd give my wife's Civic a 3 or 4.   :P

I gave the ML a 5. It's certainly a nice enough vehicle but there are enough small annoyings things about it so I never have a feeling of "Wow, I really like this car!"

I gave the truck a 7, Ive never had a proper bond with it like my old 93 1/2 ton. The Mitsu would get a 9, the Jeep would get a 9.5....the Mustang would get a 3, on a good day.
Lighten up Francis.....

8. Roomy, practical, comfortable, quiet. Styling's bland and would've preferred a nicer colour than metallic gray (bought it used). It's a basic econobox with added A/C, auto trans, power windows, power locks, keyless entry.

Berlin taxi gets an 8...nothing wrong with it but would need an AMG stove to climb higher.

About how I'd rank the BMW....nice car but another 100HP would make it even nicer  ;D

I'm pretty pleased with the XV all around, so I gave it an 8. I'd give it a 10 if it was an XV STi.  ;D

The B-250 gets 8.  It could get to a 9 easily with a few changes to the ergonomics of the displays and amber rear indicators.   To get to 10 it would need the AWD as well.

The new Fit at 7. It could achieve  9 with a DSG instead of the automatic and another 50 bhp.

I voted 7, but would be an 8 if i had a second car.  I love the way drives and has decent power, but we require a little more utility for a single car, so a wagon, or cuv will be next.  I would vote 9 for the truck as it does everything well that a truck is supposed to do and is relatively comfortable, but it is corporate owned, so doesn't count i assume!

Good thread!

8 for the Santa Fe.

She loses a point because I can't wash/wax her properly without the help of a very tall person, thanks to the high roof.  Although maybe I should lose points for not thinking that one through?   :P

She also loses a point for a poorly-placed and spottily-responsive honk spot on the steering wheel.  Not that I use it very often, but it sure would be nice not to have to smash my fist on the steering wheel to get a message across to the douches of the road.

7.

S60 loses points for a not great seating position (seats are fantastic, but the seating position for me, not so much) a characterless, boring personality, and a bus like turning circle.

300 hp & 325 torques does make me forgive some of that though...

The Cobra gets a 10 'cuz love isn't always rational, but even the Miata would get a 9 (the only thing I really wish it had was air conditioning for those sticky summer days when I'm still in my office attire).

Bug gets a 10.  I still enjoy driving and working on her after 15 years.
