I saw a bunch of these being transported on trailers in pairs this past weekend, 401 eastbound.

These will be a hit for sure. Where is GM's response to these Euro cargo vans?

GM will be offering a rebadged version of the Nissan NV200 in late 2014. No word on the large van replacement.

Apparently federalizing the Opel commercial vans was too expensive. They dropped the ball on the segment.

Ford has the new version of the Transit Connect and the big brute Transit, which I think arrive by late fall early 2014 and summer respectively. The full size Transit will offer the 3.7L, 3.5L Ecoboost and a new 5 cylinder 3.2L diesel. There is a possibility that the 3.2 could find its way into the F150 according to a few rumours.

Very nice. I'm interested if fleet operators want turbo engines because most cargo vans I see aren't doing any towing.

These vans have so many color options, but 98% of the ones I see are commercial white.

I'd imagine the cargo versions will pretty much stick with appliance white. The passenger version seats from 8 to 15, so lots of airport and rest home shuttles could take advantage of the other colours.

The GVWR can be up to a bit north of 10k lbs, some might want the extra grunt. I'd expect many will stick with the base engine, but it'll be interesting to see how the take rate breaks down.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

0-60? 1/4 mile? any figures?

Yes.  Because you are going to be stop light racing and drag racing a cargo van, loaded up with cargo.  While we are at it, what sort of performance mods are available from Mopar?

 ::)

Yeah, but what about the slalom speed and how many G's on the skidpad?   ???

It's a sensitive thread, the looks and performance of this rig alone have stirred up the karma big time...It's bad enough that I have to watch the truck threads, now the commercial vans...plz ::)

The last van I drove for work went up in smoke...literally!  It was a Dodge RAM beater ready to go for auction, but I had to use it for a few days as my truck was in for service.  It caught fire during rush hour on a busy street in Moncton!  I had to douse it with a fire extinguisher...reluctantly... :-\    The van filled with acrid smoke in a matter of seconds! What a stench!

I had an alternator catch fire on a '90 Ford Escort one month before my wife and I took possession of our first house.  We went from just driving along to full acrid smoke in the car in a couple of seconds. Luckily (strictly from a financial point of view), I lifted the hood, the fire burned itself out, my FIL generously paid for the repairs (~$700) and I didn't have to buy another car. It's tough enough putting together a down payment on a first house!

Drove past the shop yesterday and noticed a ProMaster was being delivered. Hopefully will get a closer look at it tomorrow. Wasn't able to get into any of the training courses for it.
Enjoying the Alberta advantage
