The wife's current car is a loaded 2012 Civic EX-L.  I rarely drive it, and I'm very much OK with that.

A subcompact hatch isn't reflected in the poll, but this is Mrs. Jaeger's ride.  You could try to convince her that it isn't the best car ever made, but I don't like your chances of success.

Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Poll should include "wagon".

2010 VW Passat 2.0T wagon.

Mrs tpl agrees...but hers is the dark blue almost purple colour.

Nice!  My M-I-L wanted a Fit in the worst way after I took her on a "subcompact shopping comparison" a few years ago.  But my F-I-L can't seem to buy any vehicle unless it's a (used) FGC, so she was stuck driving a mid-90s 528i.

After MANY ridiculously expensive repairs over the past decade, the 5er recently went to the big auto graveyard in the sky.  M-I-L thought this was her chance to finally get herself a Fit.  F-I-L decided to "compromise"....and bought a (used) B200 turbo, without M-I-L's knowledge.  But hey, it's a small hatchback and she seems to like it...though I still think she'd prefer the Fit

This is IQ's 2002 Lexus IS300 with manual transmission.  She specifically sought out the manual tranny, and it wasn't too easy to find.  A nice bonus of the manual is this particular model comes with LSD and firmed up suspension over the autobox..

She's done most of the mods herself.

-ProLex Performance short throw shifter
-Swift Racing Technologies Intake and ECU
-Tanabe Touring exhaust
-DBA Series 4000 rotors and Hawk HPS pads
-18" Tenzo R Cuzco wheels in Bronze Flat
-Amsoil engine oil, Royal Purple in the tranny and diff

The car runs very strong and sounds wonderful!  Based on dyno pulls and the usual 15% drivetrain loss, the car is making 240HP and 245TQ at the flywheel.  Pretty impressive for a car that was listed at 215HP/218 TQ

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

She drives the TSX. But she wants to see the new Jeep Cherokee and hopefully get one if she likes it. Boss man said she can try it for a few days when we get one in. Should be in any day now. If that happens, the CR-V is gone and I will get the TSX.

My wifey drives the Firebird....It's actually become a "shared" car because at the moment we really only need one daily vehicle, the rest of the fleet is usually used for pleasure drives or as backups when the Firebird breaks.

It was her first car, back in 2007 and has served us well....She loves that it's reasonably practical, fun to drive and gets her lots of attention :S

Even though it's technically an SUV, I said Truck for the poll.

It just didn't seem right to lump a 3/4-ton Yukon XL in with the CUVs.

Cool - I wish my wife was into modding (or at least appreciated me doing it)!  How does she like the HPS pads?  Do they squeal or dust much?  Would they be suitable for tracking?

They might ruin "normal" rotors I think, though the Supra's rotors could handle them.  Not sure about other OEM rotors though.  They are pretty aggressive.

Yes..they dust.  Not real squealing.

I think they would work for track use.  They are quite an aggressive street pad....

I gave a set to AngryMan for use with his TT.  And his car has seen the track quite often.

With respect to the purchase decision of their spouse's vehicle, I wonder how many forum members:

1   Have no input into purchase decision of their spouse
 2   Somewhat influence purchase decision
 3   Greatly influence purchase decision
 4   Make the purchase decision

In my case, for the RAV, it was 2 while for the Sienna it was 3/4.  Based on that trend next it will be 0   :rofl2:

Hers is silver, mine is green:

I should mention there is a tinge of buyers remorse setting in, due to lack of power at a certain speed/gear combo and poorer than expected fuel economy.  The Forester, even though it weighs about the same and has similar HP/torque numbers (and both have 4 speed AT's) is much better on hills and gets much better fuel economy.

In my case, it's been 3 or 4.  Only once has she hated my choice - I traded in her 92 Mazda MX-3 (with a smooth 1.8L 24 valve DOHC V6) for a 98 Isuzu Rodeo.  I don't blame her - I also regretted it.

I was a No. 2...wifey is only 4'10" so visibility was key for her.  I would have preferred the 2006 Santa Fe 7 passenger 4wd from a safety perspective (and CHEAP 0% financing) but the tiny rear quarter windows eliminated it for her, unfortunately.

Mazda was clearing out the last of the MPV's in 2007, so the $10k on the hood helped.

She LOVES the MPV's versatility, power, and the HUGE sunroof...just approaching 100,000 km mark too!

Fortune favours the bold!

I buy what I want to buy...because it's MY car.

IQ buys what she wants because it's HER car.

Sure, we'll talk about it, but ultimately, we buy what we want for our cars.  Even if I didn't like a car she was buying, it doesn't matter.  No my car.
