Recent spousal purchases of 128i and FX (with awesome wheels!) gave me an idea.

Since many of the regulars here have a husband/wife who drives, I wanted to create a thread for the vehicular choice of your significant other.   I'm interested in how choices of enthusiasts' spouses could be different relative to those of non-enthusiasts'.

Photos are more than welcome.

We are a single car family for now.  My wife doesn't drive at all.

EDIT: Added a poll with maximum of 2 votes.

This is my wifes vehicle, 2007 Jeep Wrangler. She works for a civil engineering firm and has to make her way through construction sites and unprepared, virgin land, served her very well. Its a manual, which I love, because when it comes to buying a vehicle I have the freedom to purchase a vehicle with 3 pedals  ;D

Lighten up Francis.....

SCF (single car family) also so we share but I'd say she drives the GTi about 5% of the time. She does have her own bicycle though which she loves.

My wife's F150...

She bought it for towing her horses, although that doesn't happen much these days.  But I appreciate it for other "truckly" duties (trips to the compost depot, dump, moving furniture or a snowblower, etc.)  It hasn't had many miles put on it since I bought the Elantra (real world gas useage is approximately double!)  But it sure is nice to have a truck available when you need one...

Mrs tpl  has her new Fit. She'd still have the old ( 2007) one if her left leg/foot still worked to drive manual. She is not that interested in cars but once she gets used to one she wants to keep it.

My wife is definitely in the "non-enthusiast" group.
Currently her wheels are the same as mine.  We're running with one car for now until next spring when S60 lease is up.

Will stick with one car for a while as long as it works, which will allow a siginifcant bump into the travel & home reno/upgrade budget.
Some point down the road though will be buying a toy for myself.

The XV is her car. She did all the homework on this one. I just tagged along and make the payments. ;D

If the home renos and unexpected stuff ever stops, I'll get something for myself.

The drives the Mazda 2 since we sold her minivan. If she had her choice she'd be driving some lumbering, gas guzzling SUV preferably with a premium name plate.

i checked off both cars "she has"... though the patriot is technically mine, it's now the only car she drives, and i use my demo or the pacer... the paseo is about to go and hasn't seen the road in a couple months... so coupe and cuv.

i think if the patriot was manual, she'd be fine with it for a while, but as of now, she'd like me to get something different.

I think it's well known in my case, but I will cement it in this thread.  We have FOUR frickin' cars in our household, which is excessive and ridiculous and Albertan all the way.  Though we don't have a bunch of quads and a Hummer and big boat, and well, you get the idea...

2009 Toyota Corolla is the "daily driver" and preferred car of our fleet for the missus.  She finds it comfortable, super economical, and it serves her well.

2001 Subaru Forester is a "shared" vehicle that I'm using to teach the kid to drive on, and may become her car once the license is earned.  The missus also takes it to work on horrendous snow days not only for the AWD, but for the "we wouldn't be terribly upset if it got whacked" status of the Subaru.

2004 Toyota Highlander is my winter daily driver and the family "truck."  The missus doesn't particularly like driving it despite the high seating position and good visibility.  I suspect a large part of her dislike has to do with parking it.

1994 Mazda Miata.  This is really MY car.  The missus has driven it 2-3 times, doesn't like it at all, and though she's adept with the stick, fears finding herself stopped on a hill with it.  It gets stored from ~Nov 1 to end of March.

BMW is her car (and she paid for it) ..........The bad news is I'm responsible for trips to the shop, making sure it always has gas, and cleaning/detailing it .............The good news is she lets me drive it regularly ;D
