Stick-on film sunscreen?
« on: September 03, 2013, 11:18:44 am »
My daughter seems to be very sensitive to sunlight.  She cries when we have sun setting on her side and we can't help it until we can either turn or put some sort of towel/blanket over her side window.

I have put a suction up sun screen for now, but it doesn't let me open the window on her side.

I've heard of semi-permanent films to block out the sun more than a regular tinted window would do, while allowing you to open/close the window.  Is there a local shop where I can get something like that?

Thanks.

Plenty of locations like Tint King. Sure you can ask your local dealer who they recommend also.

my husband put up some temporary film he got at Canadian Tire- you put baby shampoo on the window and then it dries/clears
if you cut it exact I think you can put windows up/down
much cheaper option than tinting- looks fine and works

I'd think 5% tint the rears, which should easily do 99% UV blockage or more?

two rear windows should not cost very much.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

The rear windows are already 25% tinted, so I don't want to take that off and re-tint it.

I think what steelchick's hubby got is what I'm looking for.  Anyone know what the product's name is?

Re tint it to 5% on the one window. Shouldn't cost much. I tried that DIY tint back in the days from Canadian Tire, it's crap. Too thick and difficult to apply.

I would never DIY this sort of thing.  Miss Jetta and the Santa Fe got tinting done by experts.  No purpling, no bubbles, only 3M film.  End of story, and worth every penny.
