LOL!  It's cause they're hypermiling and stopping for crosswalks kills fuel economy!

Well, we already knew about the link between unethical behaviour and wealth. I guess this is just another manifestation of that fact.

I have been cut off quite blatantly by a Prius taking a racing line through a 2 lane curve....outside inside outside my boy!

Not sure about the worse drivers part.  But a lot of them are real snobs and actually think they are driving the "Ultimate Driving Machine".  Eventhough BMW's latest are bloated, soft and roll like a boat in sea.    ::)

entertaining article for sure.

but calling that scientific is ...highly suspect.

the "researchers" observed mid 200 drivers....   at couple of intersections...  that was probably done in one afternoon.

bmw drivers are generally a-holes anyway.

can i get a university funding for standing around my block intersection and noting cars?  i would do that all day.   :)

Let's file this under "So tell me something I don't know..."  ::) ;D

I've certainly seen enough examples in parking lots as well as at intersections to agree with this study's results.

As far as BMW drivers being the worst, well a case can be made for Alpha (male or female) types seeking out what is known as the Ultimate Driving Machine (Status Machine?).  Once behind the wheel of such a beast, it simply becomes an extension of their "a$$holi-ness".

That is not to say that all BMW owners are like the ones in the survey.  I'm sure most are quite reasonable.  As well, there are no doubt many owners of older 3 series Bimmers that have them because they were more affordable and yes, a whole lot of fun to drive.

tough to base any opinions on a study that has so many variables and such a small study group...

there are exceptions to every rule... also, i would hardly count it as a "rule' that bmw (or any other high value car) owners are jerks... more just an increased chance of such.

I dont know, I have to say that this study is flawed, it would be tough to point the finger at BMW drivers for exclusively being the biggest d!cks on the road. I see lots of idiotic, self serving, uncaring drivers on the road everyday and they dont have a vehicle of choice. Ive seen people in $500 Tempos and people in $150k 760iL's be completed self serving morons....I dont think BMW is the ultimate sign of a douchebag driver. Especially in the case where the sample group was so small...maybe if they went to a different area of town there would be another car type that would be preferred by bad drivers.
Lighten up Francis.....

BMWs are a dime a dozen around here and I've observed the majority of them being driven, and I use that word in the loosest possible way, by twenty-something bleached blonde females. They're dangerous enough in Honda Civics or Toyota Yarises (Yarii?) but in BMWs they're downright terrifying.

There is something to the other side of this.  My wife found when she had her Mercedes, people drove very aggressively towards her.  Reverse snobbery?

Good point. I get that a lot in the TTRS. People take great joy in impeding my progress, I just flash the loser symbol when I eventually pass.
