Saw a new boxster today on the way to work.  It really looks like an exotic now.

I dunno man. Cayman is a pretty serious machine. I don't think you're giving it quite enough cred.

Cayman is a big time serious sporting machine.

Some think it has displaced the 911 as the "true" sports car in the Porsche line up.

I suspect he's never driven a base one, let alone an S.

It's one of the best sports cars on the planet.  Period.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Never driven one, never will, the car does not interest me in the least little bit. A 911 of whatever heritage, awesome!!!
Lighten up Francis.....

Until you drive it and then forget about all the heritage, the Cayman is awesome.

That's like saying you don't like sex before trying it.

I just cant get over the looks of either of them, they do not say sporty, or come hither so yeah, Im sure driving them might be a good time, much like the Toyota Tundra, the looks spoil the car for me.

And thats the main point of these vehicles, to reach out and touch that little spot in your soul that makes you go OOOOHHHH YEAH, DADDY MUST HAVE THAT. These are cars bought with the left side of your brain. So, for me, the Corvette didnt just reach out and touch that spot, it did a flying, spinning back kick into it and I must have this more than my next breath......    :winner:

More video of the Corvette is appearing...here's a pretty thorough test that produced 0-60 in 3.9. The car looks pretty good in video.

That is a sweet video.  The pricing for this thing is pretty incredible.

What's the price for one with the Z51 package and whatever equipment level gets you the better seats?  Like $60-65k CAD??  (Vman help me out here)

Also, I have little sense for how Corvette's depreciate...   Is it reasonable to expect that one of these 2014 Z51's could be had for high-40s in 2-3 yrs time and <50k on the odometer???

The wheels are turning....

That video is funny.  He talks about everything with non-descriptive adjectives.  LIke it's Nice, stops pretty fast, goes fast etc.

I wonder why anyone would want a "customer selectable VIN"  I guess it would only be the last 8 digits and only if no-one else had selected it....but why especially for $5000.

Maybe it is that Chinese thing?   No-one wants any "8"s  in case it causes a crash

It's brilliant marketing because there are no new costs associated with the feature...pure margin right to the bottom line. There are people sitting around all day getting paid to think up stuff like this.

I dunno...the more I read about all the electronic safety nets, the more I'd prefer the raw/brutal C6 Z06.

But that's just me.

But for this price, this is an incredible car.
