yep, a billion percent improvement. Drives fantastic.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

It's interesting that the likes of GM,  Ford and Chrysler all are making more interesting looking vehicles while the europeans (especially BMW and Audi) are getting boring if not dowdy. Let's see how these cars hold up over time and see whether they are more durable as well.

While it's definitely an improvement, the exterior design and the steering wheel design just doesn't do it for me.

I guess we'll see many of these as taxis and rental cars very soon.

Love the overall look. But the rear is lacking, the steerinf wheel is weird and it's time for Chevy to change the typeface to something more modern cause it screams '80's.

no you wont. They are high quality and expensive to boot. No longer cheap huge cars, not a buffet but rather a tidy plated dinner now.

GM said only 30% would go to wholesale, and 70% retail - a reverse of the 2013 trend.

as for the design, I think it looks much better - but you are right about the steering wheel

I agree with you on both of these things. The steering wheel, while very comfortable, left me feeling a bit off - especially after so much effort was put into making the interior a great place to be.

And the font they're using, especially in the gauges, is very tired.

"It is still overboosted at driving speeds, and I found it was floppy on centre."

That statement just screams classic GM.

There are three applications of this car: low rated rental, better placed taxi and highly regarded rare one as a police cruiser!

Plenty of Camry taxis, an increase of Altimas taxis as well lately.  Neither could be a reliable police car.

FWD cop car is a terrible idea....the maintenance on them is huge.

I've yet to see one in the flesh, but from the pictures I'm really liking this car. If I lived down in Montana or Idaho, I'd love to have one of these as an Interstate cruiser.

Without being at all retro, somehow this car manages to evoke the sense of style and presence of the classic Impalas from the 1960s. I think GM has really nailed it with this car.

And I love that it's a Chevy: no badge snobbery or pretentiousness, just a stylish, comfortable, spacious car with luxury that Joe Everyman could only have dreamed about on his 1960s Impala.

I too have never seen one in the flesh but think that it's a very attractive car from the pics.  It might be too early to tell, but I'm guessing that this will do well for GM.

BMW and Audi are designing their cars for their largest market, China, where the cars will most likely driven by a chauffeur. The long hoods on the 5 and 7 cars are very popular with their Chinese buyers.

The only RWD left are the Chargers, and these have IRS with plenty of U-joints and boots to maintain. The 4-door trunked trucks are all gone now.

Thats why most police departments have a stockpile of Crowns Vics that they dont want to give up. Sure it may not be the fastest, best handling or most efficient, but the Crown Viccie took a licking and came back for more. Plus the maintenance departments have them figured out to a tee.

Calgary police dept ran a six month test between Chargers and Taurus to replace all the old Vic's. They picked the Taurus in the end. I admit in the new black and white colour scheme they look quite menacing.

Up to a month ago in the US an Impala buyer could score the older version Impala with the 6, air, cruise, etc. ( the basics) for 20K off the curb.   Very satisfactory car for middle America.  Now the list price for the 2014 base version 4 cylinder LS is $27,500  :o ...... which should be never offered with a 4 banger.  Just dilutes the brand.   Like Toyota offering a Camry 4 banger in the new Avalon just to beat the price down.   :rofl2:
